The former Love Island stars have taken to social media to confirm rumours that they’ve become a couple, with Maura posting a loved-up image of them on her Instagram account.
The brunette beauty captioned the snap:
‘He’s mine [love-heart emoji] @christophertaylorofficial (sic)’.
Chris posted the same image on his Instagram.
Alongside the photograph, he wrote:
‘Turns out I fell in love with my best mate @maurahiggins [love-heart emoji] (sic)’.
The announcement has been warmly welcomed by some of their Love Island co-stars, including Molly-Mae Hague.
In response to Maura’s post, she wrote:
‘”FINALLLLLLYYYYYYY [crying emojis] (sic)’.
And underneath Chris’ message, Molly said:
‘[crying emojis] Everything and more (sic)’.
Fellow ‘Love Islander’ Danny Williams also welcomed the news.
He wrote on the photo-sharing platform:
‘I’m worried this pic might actually break the internet for real (sic)’.
Similarly, Greg O’Shea hailed the announcement on social media, saying it’s “what 2020 needed”.

Maura and Chris have been romantically linked for months, but the celebrity duo have previously denied the rumours.
After it was suggested they’d make the “best couple”, Chris previously said:
‘Yeah, potentially. We’ve never really thought about it like that, we’re just super close mates.
‘We care about each other, we look out for each other, we basically bully each other. I don’t think we ever say anything nice to each other’s faces, but that’s our banter. She’s Irish and it’s the Irish banter and that’s my kind of banter.
‘If you were around us together you’d think, “these two f***** hate each other”, we don’t’.
Chris also claimed he didn’t want to risk ruining their friendship.
He explained:
‘We like each other and the thing is, it’s never been something that’s crossed our minds and it wouldn’t happen for the fact that we don’t want to ruin our friendship.
‘We don’t see each other that way. We’re platonic, as they say, platonic friends’.
