The ITV show has relocated from the Australian jungle to Gwrych Castle in North Wales due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the series – which will kick off on November 15th – will last for 20 days rather than 22, ending on a Friday night instead of a Sunday.
And show bosses are said to be concerned some of the campmates might not cope too well with the cold castle conditions.
A source told The Sun newspaper:
‘There have been some concerns at ITV that it’s going to be a mega shock to the system when they leave the lap of luxury and are suddenly living in a damp, squalid castle.
‘There are fears some will sack it off. They were even worried some might not even enter the castle at all’.
The castle is expected to be “damp and freezing”, and doesn’t contain permanent heating, plumbing or lighting.
Among the stars who look set to brave the tough Welsh winter temperatures for the show – which is hosted by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly – are former EastEnders actors Shane Richie and Jessica Plummer, as well as singer Russell Watson, and TV presenter Vernon Kay.

If the cold doesn’t scare the celebs off, then the spirits may do as the castle is said to be haunted.
Richard Cowles, director of entertainment at ITV Studios, previously said:
‘The Australian jungle is such an integral part of the show and it was a big challenge to find a UK location where we could continue to deliver what viewers love about I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
‘But Gwrych will definitely do that; the castle sits in an amazing and atmospheric setting on a hillside overlooking the Irish Sea.
‘While there will be plenty of changes required as we move from New South Wales in Australia to North Wales in the UK, we are really excited to see how we can adapt the format and make the Castle our new home for a very special 20th series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! this Autumn’.
