The annual ITV show – which is hosted by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly – is to go ahead in Wales this year, as opposed to its usual location of the Australian outback, due to travel restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic, but stars are having to isolate before filming commences.

They have been allowed to have their families and partners join them in secret luxury cottages and hotels, to ensure they do not get lonely during the two weeks of quarantine.

A source told The Sun newspaper:

‘ITV decided to allow celebs as much time with families as possible.

‘They’re already essentially having three weeks’ quarantine in a freezing castle, so two weeks on top of that felt a bit mean’.

The stars are usually forbidden from contacting the outside world after landing in Australia, and they are expected to give up their phones.

It comes after Ant and Dec attempted their first-ever Bushtucker Trial after 19 years on the show.

The Geordie duo took part in three trials as part of I’m A Celebrity… A Jungle Story, which airs on November 8th, and sees the pair take a look back at some of their highlights of the ITV competition.

The presenters were faced with spiders, snakes, and a waterfall of slime, before taking part in an infamous food challenge.

The first challenge was called Catch A Falling Star and saw the pair try to catch the stars as they stood in the slime waterfall.

At one point, Ant said:

‘This will be so much better when I watch you do it’.

Dec replied:

‘Oh, I forgot about that’.
