It was a job that meant you could reward the people you liked with clean whiteboards and pens that looked brand new, and punish those you hated with dirty whiteboards and pens that didn’t work!

This, of course, fed into the real shame you felt when you’d answered a math’s question and held your board up with serious confidence, showing everyone in the class, just to find you’d not only go the answer wrong, but you’d got the answer really, really wrong.
