School days were some of the best – and worst – days of our lives. We could hang our with our mates, do stupid stuff and occasionally learn something too.

But let’s be honest, the best things we remember about school wasn’t the lessons – sorry teachers – it was all the weird stuff that happened outside.

See how many of the these stupid crazes you can remember from your school days.

Shag bands

They were multicoloured and didn’t match our outfit but that’s not what it was all about. They came in all different colours and you had to snap them off other people’s wrists. Each colour had a certain meaning so god forbid you ever got the black one snapped!

Stink Bombs

We didn’t know where on earth people got them from. All we knew was that the classroom/playground absolutely stank.

Downing Sherbet Or Toxic Waste

Just… because. A lot of the crazes at school normally involved some sort of challenge and this one was massively painful.

Playing Mercy

This might have had different names around the schools but basically two players had to grasp eachother’s handers and bend the opponents fingers back until they shouted for mercy.

Chinese Burns

For some reason, a lot of crazes at school involved inflicting a little bit of misery. Sometimes, you could pretend you were going to give someone an arm massage but if they fell for that then it was on them…

Throwing Wet Toilet Roll At The Roof

Why on earth this was deemed a fun lunchtime activity, no one really knew… But if you ever dared to look up at the bathroom ceilings, it was a sight to behold.

‘Tieing’ Someone

When we got to high school, we had the added accessory of a tie. It was normally the rule to have it down to your belly button so naturally we had about 2 stripes on it. Being ‘tied’ was just more irritating than anything as someone just grabbed your tie and pulled it to make it a knot that was impossible to undo…

Slap Bands

They weren’t too painful but mentally you thought it was going to actually snap your arm off. Really fun to do on everyone else, though.

Charity Bracelets

Because we had to show everyone that we cared. Our arms were so full of charity bracelets, shag bands and holiday bracelets… Not sure how we managed to move around!
