How long has she been Christine McGuinness?
Top Gear host Paddy McGuinness married his wife Christine on June 4th 2011 after three years together. In 2013 the pair have twins Leo and Penelope and their youngest daughter Felicity was born in 2016.
On the twins fourth birthday, Christine revealed that they had been diagnosed with autism. Speaking on MTV’s ‘Nappy Days’ podcast, she said:
‘It’s hard enough being a mum but when you have children with additional needs, it’s daunting. You wing it at first. You make mistakes but that’s just natural. But I didn’t know they had autism at first because I didn’t know anything about autism.
‘They didn’t speak. They were non-verbal, they’d walk on their tiptoes, they were sensitive to sound and light. So if there was a sudden noise, they would jump out their skin. But I thought they were just softies.
‘I would think maybe it’s because they are twins, two of them, or that I would not be giving them enough attention. So I blamed myself.
‘They were with me permanently. My husband works away a lot so I thought maybe it was me and that I hadn’t taught them very well. They also never went to nursery or playgroups so I blamed myself for them having no social skills. I thought that it was down to me doing a rubbish job as a mother’.
The Real Housewives Of Cheshire star also revealed that Felicity had also been diagnosed with the disorder:

Alongside fellow Liverpudlian model Abbey Clancy, Christine was at many events and this is where she met her future husband Paddy.
However, getting to that point didn’t come easily for her as she has admitted that she suffered from an eating disorder when she was 13-18.
‘From 13-18 I suffered from an eating disorder that was close to anorexia and I know how awful it is.
‘I worried my mum sick, I was exhausted, my periods stopped and doctors said there might be future problems with my fertility and I had to take iron tablets.
‘I’d lie and say I’d eaten when I hadn’t to avoid family meals and being a model I was keen to keep up with all the other girls’.
How has this affected her since?
On social media, Christine is often seen to be working out – even during the coronavirus lockdown – and promoting the mental health benefits of exercising.
