Bursting into the spotlight on the time-travelling drama, Sam Heughan is the Scottish star taking America by storm (Him and Lewis Capaldi.) Starring in five seasons of the hit Starz drama, Sam has continued to have success in the film business, starring alongside Mila Kunis in The Spy Who Dumped Me.
The actor has gained quite the following on social media, with his new film Bloodshot now in cinemas.

He Has His Own Whiskey Brand
Joining the star-studded list of celebs with alcohol brands, Sam Heughan has slotted in alongside Ryan Reynolds and Jay-Z.
Named Sassenach (Outlander fans will get the reference), Sam succeeded in his long-term dream of launching his own whisky brand through his new business Great Glen Company.
The whisky is currently out of stock and has so far only been sold in America. However, the launch is coming to the UK soon.

He Showed His Support For The NHS
During the current Coronavirus pandemic, Sam shared his support for the NHS and the clap for our carers campaign sharing a snap of himself wearing his rainbow t-shirt.

He Has Hosted At Buckingham Palace
Representing the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, formerly the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Sam Heughan hosted an evening at Buckingham Palace and The Prince’s Trust.
He wrote the caption:
“Scotland has some real talent and was delighted to share it with them that evening. Thanks to all the performers!”

He Has TWO Honorary Doctorates
In 2019, Sam received an honorary doctorate from the University of Stirling as recognition for his contribution to film and charity work.
Funnily enough, the campus is actually the location for where he has filmed several scenes for Outlander. He collected his award wearing his traditional kilt and graduation robes.
He joked on the day:
“I’ve actually got the day off. I drove past work today – we’re actually not shooting too far from the university – so I did give them a little wave. I’m quite glad to not be working today.”

As if that wasn’t enough, Sam also received an honorary degree from the University of Glasgow. The actor actually grew up in Glasgow before moving to Edinburgh at the age of 12.
He graduated from Glasgow’s Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama – now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland – in 2003.

He Has Won Several Awards
Sam has won several best actor awards and received nominations for both a Bafta and a Critic’s choice award. Him and Lewis Capaldi are seriously doing Scotland proud.
Is Sam Heughan Single?
Luckily for all those who fancy Sam, it appears as if he is completely single. Fans wondered whether he is linked to his co-star Caitrona Balfe. However, these rumours can be completely dismissed as the Irish actress is married to music producer Tony McGill.
Previously, Sam was linked to Irish actress Amy Shiels, however in February 2020, he revealed that he is currently single.

Talking about the toll that the Outlander role has taken on his life, he divulged:
“Certainly, relationships are hard when you’re working in Scotland 10 months a year. I travel a lot and any downtime I have, I’m trying to do other projects, so very much, my career comes first. Maybe I will find someone eventually.”
