RuPaul Confirms New Docuseries Based Around His Live Las Vegas Drag Show

It has been confirmed that August will see the return to US television for enigmatic American drag act RuPaul. VH1 will be showcasing a brand-new six-part docuseries titled “RuPaul’s Drag Race: Vegas Revue”. The show will shine a spotlight on the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas and six of RuPaul’s “Drag Race” alumni who are working hard to put on an incredible live drag show for Sin City’s tourists.
A trailer for the “Vegas Revue” docuseries has been released, confirming the six legendary drag queens involved in RuPaul’s production as they bid to “slay the Strip”. RuPaul’s Drag Race Live! show in Las Vegas secured a residency at one of the Strip’s most iconic casino resorts, Flamingo, with the Flamingo Showroom playing host to a string of dance numbers, lip syncs, comedy stints and more, overseen by resident choreographer Jamal Sims.
The “Vegas Revue” show is geared towards fans interested in what it takes to put together such a slick production that’s replicated day in, day out on the Vegas Strip. Yvie Oddly, the winner of Season 11 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, is featured heavily in this series, along with other iconic drag queens such as Derrick Barry, Naomi Smalls, Asia O’Hara, Vanessa Mateo, and Kameron Michaels.
All of them get the chance to showcase their personal and professional stories from home to stage, including the courage and charisma required to prevail in one of the entertainment industry’s most cut-throat environments – even more cut-throat than the main judges from RuPaul’s Drag Race show!

26-year-old Jovan Bridges, who goes by the stage name of Yvie Oddly, shot to stardom after winning the 11th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race show. Oddly is no stranger to live performances, having been part of the “Werq the World” global drag tour. Naomi finished runner-up in season eight of RuPaul’s Drag Race but has been on his radar ever since, having been included in the fourth series of the “Drag Race All Stars” show and now as part of the Vegas Revue show. Naomi released her very own pop single in 2018 titled “Pose”. - Asia O’Hara
Asia O’Hara won Miss Gay America back in 2016 and finished fourth in the tenth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Having been a professional performer across the US, O’Hara has bagged a string of national drag pageantry titles, having been active on the scene since 2003. Like Naomi Smalls, O’Hara also released a debut pop single in 2018 called “Queen for Tonight”. - Derrick Barry
37-year-old Derrick Barry became a star on America’s Got Talent, wowing the judges with his magnificent Britney Spears impersonations. Barry would then take part in season eight of RuPaul’s Drag Race and has been part of the rotating cast of “queens” in the “Drag Race Live!” Vegas show from day one. - Kameron Michaels
Dane Young, who goes by the stage name of Kameron Michaels, is one of the archetypal “muscle queens” on the stage of RuPaul’s Drag Race Live! production. Affectionately known as “The Bodybuilder Barbie”, Michaels appeared on season ten of the Drag Race TV show and has also taken part in a string of popular internet docuseries including “Can Do Queens” and “Werq the World”. - Vanessa “Vanjie” Mateo
Puerto Rican Vanessa Mateo, who is affectionately known as “Miss Vanjie” or simply “Vanjie”, finished fifth in season 11 of RuPaul’s Drag Race and is now a major part of the Drag Race Live! production. In 2018, Vanjie released her very own pop single “I’m Vanjie”. A year later, she performed in Iggy Azalea’s music video for her single titled “Sally Walker”.
