It has been confirmed that August will see the return to US television for enigmatic American drag act RuPaul. VH1 will be showcasing a brand-new six-part docuseries titled “RuPaul’s Drag Race: Vegas Revue”. The show will shine a spotlight on the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas and six of RuPaul’s “Drag Race” alumni who are working hard to put on an incredible live drag show for Sin City’s tourists.
A trailer for the “Vegas Revue” docuseries has been released, confirming the six legendary drag queens involved in RuPaul’s production as they bid to “slay the Strip”. RuPaul’s Drag Race Live! show in Las Vegas secured a residency at one of the Strip’s most iconic casino resorts, Flamingo, with the Flamingo Showroom playing host to a string of dance numbers, lip syncs, comedy stints and more, overseen by resident choreographer Jamal Sims.
The “Vegas Revue” show is geared towards fans interested in what it takes to put together such a slick production that’s replicated day in, day out on the Vegas Strip. Yvie Oddly, the winner of Season 11 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, is featured heavily in this series, along with other iconic drag queens such as Derrick Barry, Naomi Smalls, Asia O’Hara, Vanessa Mateo, and Kameron Michaels.
All of them get the chance to showcase their personal and professional stories from home to stage, including the courage and charisma required to prevail in one of the entertainment industry’s most cut-throat environments – even more cut-throat than the main judges from RuPaul’s Drag Race show!

- Yvie Oddly
26-year-old Jovan Bridges, who goes by the stage name of Yvie Oddly, shot to stardom after winning the 11th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race show. Naomi finished runner-up in season eight of RuPaul’s Drag Race but has been on his radar ever since, having been included in the fourth series of the “Drag Race All Stars” show and now as part of the Vegas Revue show. Naomi released her very own pop single in 2018 titled “Pose”. - Asia O’Hara

Having been a professional performer across the US, O’Hara has bagged a string of national drag pageantry titles, having been active on the scene since 2003. Las Vegas remains the entertainment capital of the world. Many of the world’s biggest musicians, comedians, and performers still view the Vegas Strip as a pilgrimage, walking the same path as iconic entertainers such as Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. In fact, Vegas’ entertainment scene is arguably edging ahead of its casino scene in terms of the city’s biggest tourist pull.
In recent years, Macau has overtaken Vegas as the casino capital of the world in terms of annual revenues. “Sin City” is also experiencing legitimate competition from established online casinos. These state-of-the-art platforms are increasingly powered by responsive HTML5 technology which allows users to sample games and video slots on any desktop or mobile device, regardless of screen size.
Online casino players can also count on high availability of seats at virtual tables when playing video-based offerings like blackjack or roulette with high-definition visuals and audio. Highly regarded operators like 888casino.com which specialise in many variants of these classic online casino games are further chipping away at Vegas’ status of a gaming centre.
However, in terms of the household names of entertainment on the Vegas Strip today, drag acts are far from out of the ordinary. There are plenty of drag shows to choose from, with the likes of Diva Royale Drag Queen Show providing stiff competition for RuPaul’s Drag Race Live! production. Tickets for the Drag Race Live! show start from $49 (plus fees and taxes) which is a good-value alternative to many of the well-established acts like Cirque du Soleil that have cemented a reputation on the Strip over decades.
It takes a lot of commitment and determination to make it in the bright lights of Las Vegas where people expected to be entertained more than anywhere else on the planet. During the season finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 5, his “Vegas Revue” docuseries got a premiere airing, with the official trailer giving fans a taste of things to come and a sneak peek into the personalities and dramas surrounding the six drag queens selected to be followed on their journey to stardom in the Nevada desert.
