The Loose Women panellist has opened up after both Linda and Anne Nolan – who are undergoing chemotherapy together – were diagnosed with different types of cancer this year.

Speaking on Monday’s episode of the ITV daytime show, Coleen revealed she was recently tested, adding:

‘Just on Friday they phoned me and said ‘”you can come in today”…

‘We haven’t got the known gene. The BRCA One of BRCA Two gene’.

However, the 55-year-old star admitted doctors have advised regular testing due to the uncertainty around the science behind genetics and cancer.

She added:

‘It is, and the doctors and the geneticists don’t think that it’s just bad luck.

‘They do think that there’s a gene link, it’s just finding it. There’s another test you can do to find other genes that may find it.

‘t’s all just a worry. I think about it a hell of a lot, not only for me, but for my nieces, and nephews and my sons’.

Meanwhile, Coleen revealed she was considering undergoing a double mastectomy.

She said:

‘I am going to look into the double mastectomy. Because, if I’ve got it, I’m going to do everything I can to get rid of it’.

Coleen previously admitted there have been some “terrible” days since her siblings were diagnosed with cancer, with their sister Bernie having died from breast cancer in 2013.

She said:

‘The news came after such an incredible time we had. You know with the Nolans Going Cruising.

‘Then two weeks later this devastating news hit us.

‘But as usual with my sisters, they just, obviously devastated but then just went for it battling it and are still battling it and nearly at the end of their chemo.

‘I think Anne has one left and Linda has two. But, it’s very difficult for me to sit at home and cry and feel sorry for myself when I see them being so stoic and still laughing.

‘Obviously they have terrible days when they are incredibly ill and it’s really hard because I just can’t go and see them. I can’t just go and wrap my arms around them and it’s heartbreaking’.
