Normal People Sally Rooney: Who’s Single And Who’s Taken?
The whole country has fallen in love with Normal People (Sally Rooney’s novel) and, of course, the dashing Paul Mescal. Not only has the BBC’s heart-wrenching adaptation of Sally Rooney’s novel made viewer’s laugh and cry at the same time, but it’s made the main characters into overnight stars.
And whilst we follow their rollercoaster romance in the series, we’re also keen to delve into the love life of our new favourite actors and actresses…

Is Paul Mescal Single And Looking?
The one we’ve ALL been waiting for…
Form an orderly queue, ladies! Hunk Paul – who plays Connell – has officially revealed he’s single and looking forward to dating.

Speaking about his long search for love, the 24-year-old actor recently revealed:
“I want to find something similar to Connell and Marianne, but only in the last chapter in the book when they have such a deep connection emotionally and physically. That might be a dragon that I might be chasing for a long time.”
He added: ‘I think we’re at the point where I want to get married and settle down. But you know that kind of hysterical thing where if lockdown ever happens again, I’m making sure that I’m married. But yeah, I am looking forward to dating!’

What About Daisy Edgar-Jones?
Unlike her on-screen boyfriend, leading actress Daisy – who plays Marianne – is loved up. Daisy met her boyfriend fellow actor Tom Varey on set of an indie film Pond Life in 2018.
Tom is a 29-year-old British actor best known for appearing in the Game of Thrones.

Sarah Greene’s (Lorraine) Relationship Status
Playing the loveable Lorraine – Connell’s mum – Sarah Green has recently been in a relationship with the handsome Poldark actor Aidan Turner. The pair were a couple for five years, but they called things off in 2015.
After the split, the actress revealed:
“No one likes that scrutiny or people thinking they know something about you and they’re just guessing – you know, reading a ‘source says’ and taking that as verbatim. I just ignore it now though and I did at the time as well.”
But Sarah has since moved on and is now in a long-term relationship with another partner, admitting she wants to become a mum.
What About Aislín McGuckin?
The role of Marianne’s cold-hearted (or deeply misunderstood) mum, Denise is Irish actress Aislin McGuckin. She’s previously been married to fellow actor Aidan McArdle – the man who’s been in Ella Enchanted, Mr Selfridge and The Fall – but the pair divorced in 2019.

Is Frank Blake In A Relationship?
Playing Marianne’s aggressive, abusive older brother Alan is Frank Blake. Whilst his official relationship status is not currently known, Frank hasn’t shared anything about a potential partner on his social media!

Irish actress Leah McNamara is the cruel high school enemy of Marianne who aims to get Connell’s attention. In real life, the actress has been with her boyfriend since 2017.

What About India Mullen?
India plays Peggy, Marianne’s university friend. Prior to Normal People, India appeared in Red Rock, as well as BBC’s adaptation of Little Women.
Although India appears to be single at the minute, she’s very, very good friends with her co-star Paul (Connell), and has appeared in a few of his recent social media posts.
