Joe Exotic Memes: The Best Of Tiger King
Tiger King, the pivotal part of Lockdown we never knew we needed, spawned a glorious abundance of weird and wonderful Joe Exotic memes…
To refresh your memory on Tiger King, although we will never be able to find the words to do it justice, it was a wacky Netflix documentary series about an eccentric group of big cat breeders and their bizarre (and cruel) means of owning and parading tigers for public consumption.
During the docu series entitled Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness, we also follow the escapades of a number of ‘big cat’ owners. Let’s just say Joe Exotic is only one passenger on the crazy train.
Even celebrities have been talking about the series non-stop, including Maya Jama who says it ‘blew her mind’.

Who Is Joe Exotic?
The Netflix miniseries centred around zoo operator and convicted felon Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage a.k.a. Joe Exotic.
Donning a bold peroxide blonde mullet and handlebar moustache, to say that Joe Exotic is a character is putting it far too mildly.
That is to say, as the series progresses, we find it increasingly harder to believe that Joe Exotic is a real person, possessing characteristics that make him more fitting for a sitcom character.
As we find out more about Joe, we discover that not only does he violate every animal rights law in existence, but that his ethics appear to have NO existence.

For instance, we discover that he fed the tigers he kept in captivity AND his staff expired Walmart meat from the back of a ‘meat truck’, orchestrated a pizzeria in which he knowingly fed the public pizza using said expired Walmart meat and had a polygamous marriage with two straight men.
Not to mention the teeny tiny issue of the time he attempted to murder fellow ‘big cat rescuer’ Carole Baskin; whom he considered his nemesis.

Joe’s Obsession With Carole Baskin Led To The Creation Of Catchphrase ‘Carole F*cking Baskin’
Meanwhile, Joe Exotic’s longtime rival Carole Baskin, a big-cat rights activist and CEO of Big Cat Rescue, features heavily in the series and has been the subject of many memes herself.
Joe Exotic’s hatred of and obsession with Carole Baskin is one of the most entertaining aspects of the series. Before his incarceration, the zoo owner began to film videos in which he publicly slated Carole Baskin on multiple occasions, featured sketches where he shot a ‘Carole Baskin’ blow-up doll in the head and even read aloud her diary, after one of his employees managed to acquire – steal – it.
Yes, you read all of that right…

Let’s Not Forget The Music Videos…
Joe Exotic’s ambitions truly know no bounds and this is evident in the fact that the man tries to run for President and created his own home-made country music videos.
One music video for his song ‘Here Kitty Kitty’ features Joe Exotic and a Carole Baskin lookalike seen to be feeding her husband to the tigers (an accusation that has been made against Carole after her husband went missing in 1997).
Honestly, just watch it.

Certainly, there comes a point as a viewer where so many bizarre things have been thrown at you, that you don’t even blink anymore.
#TigerKing was so insane that by the time this guy pulled up with a skeleton riding shotgun I didn’t even blink and the show didn’t feel the need to explain it pic.twitter.com/tTzJloh74e

me trying to explain what #TigerKing is about and how it involves big cats, murder for hire, polygamy, political elections, drugs, a “missing” husband, and how every episode somehow manages to get crazier than then last pic.twitter.com/xUkAauu1wP

They Failed To Mention One Thing In The Documentary…
So, there was an incident in the series where someone *cough* Joe *cough* burnt down Joe Exotic’s studio and crocodile enclosure, killing the crocodiles and destroying the copies of Joe Exotic’s TV show.
However, they failed to mention that in the tragic death of the gators, they actually previously had a famous owner – none other than late pop singer Michael Jackson.
In 2015, the Los Angeles Times reported that the seven alligators and crocodile who died in the fire were owned by Michael Jackson – but this is never mentioned in the docu series!
The singer, who passed away in 2009, was accused of child sexual abuse by Wade Robson in 2013.

Joe Exotic Was Accused Of Using The Tigers To Manipulate Others
Joe Exotic was said to have lured and manipulated the people around him by using the tigers he had in his possession. The ‘cute factor’ allowed him to get away with things for as long as he did.
They were said to use the love people had for the cats in a big way – and it worked! Even celebrities like Khloe Kardashian and Kendall Jenner have visited a big cat rescue organisation in Mexico.
