Special Agent, John Douglas worked as a consultant for the film and he explained the inspiration for Bill came from Ted Bundy.

Ted Bundy was born in November 1946 who throughout the 1970’s assaulted and brutally murdered multiple young women and girls.

When captured the killer confessed to 30 homicides which he committed across 7 states however the true number is believed to be much higher. Bundy was also known to wear a fake cast which he made himself!
