Annabelle is a 2014 production that is set in the same world as The Conjuring movies.

In the movie, Annabelle is a (very creepy looking) porcelain faced doll, however in real life she looked quite different.

Ed and Lorraine Warren claimed that the real Raggedy Ann, Annabelle doll was given to a student nurse in 1968.

Soon after receiving the doll, the student complained of its strange behaviour which led her to contact a psychic medium.

The medium explained the doll was inhabited by a harmless spirit of a dead girl named ”Annabelle Higgins.” The student nurse tried to comfort the spirit as best as she could before things got drastically worse.

The doll began exhibiting malicious behaviour which led the student to contact Ed and Lorraine Warren. Upon their arrival they discovered that the doll was ”demonically possessed” which led them to remove it immediately. The doll remains locked within the confines of their home museum.
