After his mother’s death, Ed Gein began committing heinous crimes which coined him the name The Butcher of Plainfield.

Following his arrest, Gein admitted to the murder of two women although he is suspected of many more. As well as being a murderer, he was a grave robber who used the bodies (particularly the flesh) of his victims to create household objects such as chairs, lampshades and even bowls.
