What were you doing in the ’80s? Maybe the Sony Walkman was your new best friend or you spent many an hour gazing at your physique, in lycra, patterned cycling shorts and matching scrunchie. Proving you were a person of good taste, you’ll have been planning to see the latest films, at the cinema, starring your favourite actors, as I was.
There were some brilliant movies on the big screen, some having stood the test of time, mainly due to the film stars of that decade. In many cases, the ’80s treated us to films that were the first in a franchise and went on for years. Eye candy was plentiful for us film buffs, with handsome, sexy actors and glamorous, perfect looking actresses, to ogle at whilst we munched through a ton of popcorn as we were glued to our cinema seats. Lucky for him, he’s always played the leading man in movies, comedies, dramas and thrillers. He was in the steamy ‘9 1/2 Weeks’ with Kim Basinger and, despite his success, temporarily left it all behind to be a professional boxer.
