I’m A Celeb 2020: Rumoured Cast Heading Down Under

The I’m a Celeb 2020 cast rumours have already been circulating with Beverley Callard, Eric Cantona and AJ Pritchard on the list.

As one of the biggest shows on our screens each year, we see dozens of celebs fighting to take part in the jungle experience. Leaving their creature comforts behind, the celebrities camp in the Australian jungle, taking part in challenges to win extra food and treats. It looks like a living hell. And we love watching every minute.

Although the TV reality series takes place in November, rumours are already circulating as to which celebrities are due to take part and potentially succeed Jacqueline Jossa as king or queen of the jungle in I’m a Celeb 2020. With our favourite presenting duo Ant and Dec, who will be going into I’m a Celebrity 2020?

This former footballer was originally rumoured to take part in I’m a Celeb 2019, however he never appeared down under.

How he says he is ready to take part and will take on any challenges that are fired at him.

Speaking to RadioTimes.com he said:

“I’ve done a few shows – I’ve been on Family Fortunes and The Brightest Family.

“I did Strictly Come Dancing 10 years ago, but Dancing on Ice with my age and the injuries I’ve had, I don’t think so.

“The Jungle would be good!”

The Coronation Street actress is the first celeb to officially sign up to this year’s series. The 63-year old soap starlet announced her decision to quit the show to explore other roles.

Hoping that lockdown will ease by July and filming resume, Beverly will be filming her final scenes.

One insider revealed:

“Everyone was thrilled when Bev said yes, she is such a well-loved ITV face.”

AJ Pritchard

After quitting Strictly Come Dancing, AJ is widely rumoured to make an appearance in the jungle.

A source, divulged:

“AJ has a huge fanbase from Strictly, and he’s really grateful for the opportunity it afforded him but he is keen to show people that there is a lot more to him.

“Bosses think he would be a great addition to the cast and it always helps to secure a heartthrob as it draws in much-needed younger viewers.”

Eric Cantona

Bosses are reportedly very keen to sign Cantona. The Manchester United legend’s unique personality would certainly make for great entertainment.

Show producer Richard Cowles said:

“I just like the idea of Eric Cantona talking in French and coming up with really profound things.”

Could he beat out Noel Edmonds for most entertaining camp mate?

Lucy Fallon

After quitting her role as Bethany Platt on Coronation Street, could we be seeing her sign up to the show?

A source said:

“Lucy is bubbly, funny, down-to-earth and game for a challenge, so she is a great fit for I’m A Celebrity.

“She had conversations last year about taking part but said, ‘Thanks, but no thanks.’

“This year, she told them she feels the timing is right.”

We’ve seen him on The Circle but could we see him in the Australian bush? Apparently, it’s not the creepy crawlies that put him off but rather being away form home for that long.

He explained:

“It’s just it’s a month – it’s a good month out of your life.

“When I did The Circle I was only out of circulation for a total of 7 or 8 days. Like most people, I’m quite busy and I’ve got a lot going on.

“So if they ask me next year, I will think about it seriously, but I’d really have to have a look at my diary really and see how it would impact work. I would think carefully about it and if I could make room for it.”

Charles Ingram

This man is best known for cheating his way to winning £1 million on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? The cheating scandal was recently featured on the ITV drama, Quiz.

Since he has been thrust back into the limelight, he is now tipped to be appearing on the jungle reality show later this year.

He is now at odds of 3/1, according to leading bookmaker Ladbrokes.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said:

“Major Ingram would be an A1 choice for the next series of I’m A Celeb and the odds suggest he could well be heading Down Under.”

Matt Baker

Matt Baker is best known for hosting The One Show and Countryfile. The presenter has already dipped his toe into reality television with Strictly Come Dancing back in 2010.

Now, after stepping down from hosting The One Show, Matt is rumoured to be heading down under. He added fuel to fire after divulging that he would not turn the chance down.

He said:

“I haven’t had any conversations yet.”

“I am reluctant to say no to anything without having a good think about it.”

Having appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, this YouTuber certainly brings a large teen audience with him which could be ideal for I’m a Celeb.

Although he has been busy planning a tour with his girlfriend and ex Strictly partner Diane Buswell, another major TV opportunity surely couldn’t be turned down.

However, there is some doubt as to whether he would sign up as has previously stated he would be worried about losing too much weight.

He said:

“I don’t think I’d survive in the jungle, because they live on rice and beans. I’m so slim and I find it hard to put on weight, so I don’t think I’d last very long in the jungle. I think I’d waste away.”

Looks like we’re in for a solid I’m a Celeb 2020!
