It’s not uncommon for actors to get a shared tattoo to symbolize their journey together.
The Avengers actors got a group tattoo
A group of actors who recently got a group tattoo done were the cast of Marvel’s Avengers.

But before this, the cast of The Lord of the Rings got a group tattoo to celebrate their being members of the famous Fellowship.

Viggo was behind the tattoo chosen,
“We all got the same one – the word “nine” in Elvish – because that’s what we are, nine. I visited the tattooist a couple times, showed him the drawing and stuff.”

All the famous cast members besides John Rhys-Davies (Gimli) had the tattoo done. It was John’s stunt double who got the tattoo done instead.
Here’s the tattoo on Orlando Bloom
Elijah Wood stated,
“We felt the experience was both wonderful enough and profound enough to have ourselves branded. So we went ahead and did that about a week before we finished.”
Peter Jackson had his own tattoo done afterwards: the word for ‘ten’ in Elvish.
