Well, we’re taking a closer peek at the now famous incident: from the accused kiss, to the Corrie pair’s reactions as well as their partners…

What Happened At The NTAs?

The actors who play Carla Connor and Gary Windass (Coronation Street) hit the headlines after they were spotted looking cosy at the National Television Awards 2020.

In a video taken by an onlooker at the ceremony, it appeared that Mikey, why plays Gary in the soap, cupped Alison (Carla’s) face in his hands and kissed her.

A source revealed that the actress had too much to drink and was acting rowdy in the seat next to Mikey.

“I was in the audience and Alison caught my eye because she looked like she’d had a few too many. She was waving her arms and looking rowdy. Then I noticed she started touching Mikey’s leg and before long they were holding hands.”

What Has Mikey Said?

Mikey and Alison have both outright denied the apparent kiss – insisting that he was just speaking in her ear.

“I did not kiss my co-star Alison King during the recent National Television Awards.

“It is beyond ludicrous to suggest that I would or that I did. The grainy recording shows me simply speaking in her ear at what was a noisy public event.”

Meanwhile, a statement from Alison made clear:

“I would like to take this opportunity to say that, whilst it was obvious to see that regrettably I did have too much to drink at the National TV Awards, and chose to leave the event early, I did not kiss my co star Mikey North as has been reported.

Like Mikey, Alison also has a long-term partner, who proposed to her last September during a romantic getaway.

Former fitness instructor Rachel explained:

“I ended up being 16 days overdue, which was ridiculous.

“They decided to finally induce me but we had to wait a few days for a bed to become free.

“It was so bizarre going into hospital knowing I was going to have a baby. As opposed to going into labour naturally.

“It was like having a casual appointment and then leaving with a baby!”

During the birth of the son – the couple’s first child – Rachel lost 1.5 litres of blood when a vein was accidentally severed during an episiotomy. She was therefore feeling nervous, admitting that she was traumatised by her first experience of childbirth.
