Who is Megan Barton-Hanson?
Demi’s (now-ex) Megan Barton-Hanson, appeared in the 2018 series of Love Island, alongside Wes Nelson who she paired off with (they came fourth).

Wes and Megan didn’t last though and split up less than a year after filming.
The 26 year old former glamour model has gotten plenty done since Love Island, with interviews, modelling deals and plenty of social media promo deals to keep her going.

Demi and Megan: A Blossoming Romance
Open and Honest
Both Demi and Megan are bisexual and have spoken honestly about their sexuality. Ms Sims actually came out on TOWIE, back in 2014. When asked if she was nervous about coming out, she had this to say:
“I wasn’t nervous to come out, because it’s part of me now.”
When she joined the cast as a regular in 2018, she made sure everyone knew that she was not only still open to dating both me and women, but also very single!

“I think more people who have this platform need to speak out to younger girls honestly […] The more we’re all open about it, then the less taboo it becomes.”

Demi, Megan & Celebs Go Dating
Demi and Megan both appeared on season 7 of Celebs Go Dating in 2019. They were lined up with some other pretty famous faces, including TOWIE legends Chloe Sims and Lauren Goodger.

Megan said this about when she first met Demi:
“I think Demi and I are really similar. We bonded because she was the first girl I could really talk to about liking girls, and she’s in the public eye too, so she gets it.”
It seems Demi was just as smitten with Megan, when on a sweet beach date she said:
“I came here to meet someone and I do feel like I’ve met that person.”
They even shared their first kiss in this moment, how romantic!

An Explosive Ending for Demi and Megan
It only took until August 2019 for rumours to start about Demi and Megan possibly splitting. They unfollowed each other on Instagram and it wasn’t long before Megan announced she was dating her close friend Chelcee Grimes.

Demi’s Side
“I really liked her and she went behind my back and got with an old friend of mine. […] The truth is she made a dog move, she went behind my back and she waited until filming had finished to finish things.”
Not one to mince her words, Demi was not pleased when she found out Megan was dating Chelcee, who just happened to be a friend of Demi’s too at the time.

Chloe also suggested that Megan broke up with her just a day after filming finished and that she felt ‘used’ by the Love Island star.
Megan’s Side
“We really did get along, but I think it was more as friends. She’s beautiful, a lovely person and she’s funny, but there was no sexual chemistry there.”
Megan even suggested that her lack of feelings towards Demi made her question her bisexuality. Ms Barton Hanson certainly didn’t pull any punches.

What’s the Situation with Demi and Megan now?
Demi packed on the PDA with TOWIE co-star Chloe Ross just weeks after Megan and Chelcee announced their relationship.
As for Megan, she and Chelcee went their separate ways after a couple of months together, citing that Chelcee wanted to focus on her music.
Ms Barton Hanson now seems to be focusing on ‘self-love’, having launched her own sex toy range with Ann Summers and sharing plenty of NSFW tips to her fans.
