David Dobrik Before Instagram
David Julian Dobrik was born on July 23rd, 1996.

Dobrik is of Slovak descent, as he was originally born in Slovakia. His family moved to Chicago when he was six years old and this is where he grew up ever since.

After finishing high school, Dobrik had two choices – move out or go to college. The inspiring teen chose to move to Los Angeles with a few friends, struggling at first with low spending money.
David has three younger siblings Ester, Sara, and Toby, who occasionally appears on his videos and other social media.
The last video the siblings did together was during a Q&A session to find out more about Dobrik’s family.
We found out that the vlogger’s siblings aren’t allowed to watch his channels as it contains too much swearing!
David Dobrik and David Dobrik Too
David came into our spotlight after posting viral videos on the 6-second video platform Vine, that has since been shut down. He was part of the Vlog Squad, a group of big-name former Vine stars including Josh Pek, Gabbie Hanna, and Zane Hijazi.
Dobrik then started posting regular content on his YouTube channel, David Dobrik and you would not believe how many subscribers he has today.
David thanks his vlogging career to then girlfriend and Vine star Liza Koshy, who apparently introduced him to vlogging.
David’s main channel David Dobrik now has over 15.8million subscribers and his second channel David Dobrik Too has over 6.95 million subscribers!
His fun and easy-to-watch content sometimes features other fellow YouTubers and even includes some of Dobrik’s A-list celebrity friends.
If you think 16.1 million subscribers on his YouTube channel is impressive, wait till you find out David Dobrik’s Instagram followers!
Dobrik received his Diamond Play Button from YouTube in December 2018.
David Dobrik’s Instagram is as fun to watch as his YouTube videos. With a whopping 11.7 million followers, you’re missing out if you’re not following him already. (Even our favourite Joe Sugg has half of this amount!)
Our favourite post so far has to be the one where Dobrik holds up two super cute doggos captioned “One of us won’t stop peeing on the rug’.
David Dobrik and Liza Koshy
At the peak of David’s career, the social media star was in a serious relationship with vine star Liza Koshy from 2015 to June 2018. The media loved seeing the pair together as they both appear regularly on each other’s vlogs and social media.
Sadly, years later the couple posted a video to announce their break-up and YouTube was in tears. Their breakup wasn’t easy, but it seems like a matured and mutual decision.

The couple blamed their breakup on the pressure of both having successful YouTube careers and different schedules.
David explains:
“Liza broke up with me because she felt like we’ve been distant because we’ve been so busy. As much as I hate to admit it, I was feeling it on my side too but I just don’t have the balls to pull the trigger on that.”
Liza continues:
“We felt like we were living separate lives but neither of us was coming to terms with it. So I decided we should break up. We didn’t want to tell anybody because we were just so angry at the fact we distanced in the first place.”
David Dobrik Now
David is now rolling with the Hollywood big dogs.
After becoming a successful YouTube star, Dobrik launched “Views” in 2017, a podcast with fellow Vlog Squad member and best friend Jason Nash.
He was one of PAPER Magazine’s “10 Social Media Personalities Making the Most Noise” in 2018 alongside Jaboukie Young-White and Trisha Paytas.
His most recent feature in the June 2019 issue of W magazine saw him alongside big celebrities like model Gigi Hadid and singer Joe Jonas.
Later that year Dobrik was also featured together with Billie Eilish, Blackpink, Lil Nas X, and Tom Holland on Variety magazine’s “Power of Young Hollywood’ list.
Dobrik also started judging for Nickelodeon’s America’s Most Musical Family in 2019 with fellow judges Ciara and Debbie Gibson.
Besides working on his YouTube channel and podcast, 10 Social Media Personalities Making the Most Noise.
We saw him co-hosting the 2019 Teen Choice Awards with the gorgeous Lucy Hale and he even received the award for Choice Male Web Star.
A survey by Piper Jaffray & Co. in 2019 revealed that David is the Number 1 influencer social media personality. (Kylie Jenner and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson were also in this list.)
It is now 2020 and there is no stopping the young and hard-working star as he’s even hanging out with massive celebrities like the famous Justin Bieber.
