Who Is Amy Willerton?
Amy Willerton is a model and television presenter who rose to fame in 2013 when she entered the Miss Universe Great Britain competition. She won the crown and later that year went to Moscow to take part in the Miss Universe pageant. She was one of the favourites to win.
Willerton placed in the top ten of the competition, being the first British contestant to do so in 30 years.
Immediately after taking part in the pageant, Amy flew to Australia to take part in 2013’s I’m A Celebrity. Fellow contestants include: GB swimmer Rebecca Adlington, TOWIE‘s Joey Essex, Emmerdale‘s Lucy Pargeter, and winner Kian Egan from Westlife.

Amy placed 5th overall in the series. Some of her highlights include getting caught multiple times with forbidden contraband, her comments which upset Rebecca Adlington about femininity and beauty, and several bush tucker trials including the famous ‘Cyclone’.
Following on from her time in the jungle, Miss Willerton has appeared on many TV shows. She came third in 2017’s The Jump on Channel 4, and has presented shows including Every Single Step featured on the Dance On Network.
When Did She Give Birth?
Amy Willerton’s baby daughter Demelza, was born in January. Her birthing story is quite the unusual one!
She took to her instagram to discuss her experience of being mugged in London. She was walking with fiancé Daniel Day when someone took her phone out of her pocket. At 41 weeks pregnant she was an easy target, but she said that she does “understand desperation” and why someone would do such a terrible thing.
The phone contained all of her birth plans that she had spent months building and preparing, including playlists, phone numbers, and notes. Amy believes that the terrifying ordeal was in fact what triggered her labour.

Although she hoped to have a home birth, Amy ended up having an elected C-section. She laboured for 3 days at home but the baby was in a difficult position so she decided to go to theatre. Amy believes it was the safest option for herself and her daughter.
Where Is She Now?
Miss Willerton and her family were in Switzerland when the covid-19 crisis exploded in Europe. Their skiing trip came to an abrupt end when they were told that the entire village would be shutting up.
The family of three were then on a mission to find somewhere safe where they could self-isolate. Most countries were in states of lockdown which made it a difficult and stressful time.

Luckily they managed to find a beautiful house in Spain. They entered lockdown a full eight days before the UK did, but the family appear to be coping with the ordeal well.
How Is It With A Three Month Old?
Lockdown has definitely not discouraged Amy Willerton from posting pictures of baby Demelza. It seems that her young daughter has given the model a sense of purpose and fun during these turbulent times.
The family celebrated Demelza’s first Easter together in lockdown. Amy posted the most adorable photos on her instagram account, featuring Demelza wearing ribbons in classic Spring-time colours, and herself in bunny ears.

The couple have also been spending time outdoors, taking their daughter for a lot of walks.
Amy said that one thing she was grateful about with the lockdown, is that it has slowed life down. She is spending the time lapping up every second she gets to spend with her daughter. It is easy for parents to will away the first few months of their child’s life, but Amy wants to savour each stage of her daughter’s childhood, and lockdown has enabled her to do so.
