The Diversity star has been planning something huge for this weekend’s finale of the ITV figure skating competition, and he’s ready to respond to his friend Ashley Banjo’s criticism that he hasn’t upped his game enough during the series.
Without giving everything away about his upcoming stunt, he teased Metro.co.uk:
‘We have to get a brand new routine together each week so I haven’t had time to really focus on it but at the same time I have had to have loads of help with it because there are loads of factors to it that are really risky and loads of things could go wrong.
‘And you know I’m a dancer, I can’t go getting injured’.
The 24-year-old star – who is paired with pro skater Vanessa Bauer – revealed it is something he’s wanted to do since the start of the show, but hasn’t had the chance until now.

He explained:
‘It has taken a lot of time, but I knew it would take a lot of time.
‘I knew I wouldn’t be able to put the time in unless I was still in the competition later on, just because I knew I didn’t have the time to just focus on that one thing’.
He certainly has the support of the show’s associate creative director Dan Whiston – a three-time Dancing On Ice champion as a professional – who insisted Perri could carry on ice skating after the competition is over.
Dan recently told BANG Showbiz:
‘You spend so much time on ice, even though it’s just a reality show, you are learning a skill and that skill can go for the rest of your life. The standard of some of these guys, they could do a show.
‘Perri is in a place where potentially he could do a show, this could open doors for Perri. The kind of skating we are churning out, don’t be surprised to see them on the ice in another show’.
