Lady Gaga Boyfriend: A Mystery Man Inspires His Ex
New Lady Gaga boyfriend Michael Polansky is not one for being in the spotlight, historically speaking. Yet instantly, Polansky’s relationship with the Poker Face singer and actress elevated his past loves and achievements into public scrutiny.
How Lady Gaga’s boyfriend entered the spotlight
Millions saw Gaga and the then-mystery man Polansky in their private box seats at Super Bowl LIV in Miami, won by Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs. The annual American football championship game is regularly one of the world’s most-watched events on television.
As a result, the identity of the mystery man inspired speculation.
Naturally, social media heightened the ensuing gossip, which eventually got back to Polansky’s ex. Who just so happens to be an Opinion editor for The New York Times.
By late February, Polansky’s name and past came to light. Gaga’s Instagram post showed her in a loving snapshot with the executive. Then came a revealing, personal article for The New York Times by the ex mentioned previously, Lindsay Crouse. Crouse wrote:
I don’t follow my ex on social media. We were “friends” on Facebook. Then we were “in a relationship” on Facebook. After we broke up, I noticed I was “blocked” on Facebook.
And then we moved on. I hadn’t googled him in forever (I promise). But this month I knew everything about his new relationship status, within hours of when it was disclosed.
Suffice to say that Crouse went further. But did it get tawdry? This is The New York Times, after all – the paper of record, all the news that’s fit to print. And who is Michael Polansky?
Who is Lady Gaga’s boyfriend?
Naturally, we’ll go with the second question first, to start things off.
Polansky is a Harvard graduate and former Mark Zuckerberg classmate. At age 35, Polansky has served as the CEO of Parker Group since 2009. The Parker Group is the conglomerate of Facebook/Napster entrepreneur Sean Parker. Astute Facebook fans will recognise the Parker character played by Justin Timberlake in the Aaron Sorkin film The Social Network.
Polansky and Gaga met through Parker, according to reports, and seem to have been an item since New Year’s Eve. Says Gaga in a February Instagram post after the Super Bowl:
“We had so much fun in Miami. Love to all my little monsters and fans, you’re the best❤️”
Crouse and Lady Gaga’s boyfriend
Previously, Polansky dated Crouse for seven years, stretching from university to professional world. Crouse wrote:
If you’ve ever googled an ex’s new partner (be honest) you’ve probably played a certain game with yourself.
You’re either just curious — which is healthy of you — or you want to know how you compare. Ideally the ex’s life didn’t improve too much without you? In this case, though, that’s all upended. How do you compare yourself with Lady Gaga?
Considering the impact of these new revelations, Crouse didn’t crumble: she found inspiration.
Lady Gaga is amazing. Comparing yourself with her is incredibly motivational, and I recommend you try it, regardless of how you relate to who’s dating her.
Lady Gaga’s boyfriend history prior to seeing Polansky
The provocative, norm challenging Gaga’s love life is certainly tabloid fodder. Subsequently, her Instagram reveals of Polansky as her new lover stirs the pot again.
For one thing, it’s another in a line of mystery men with Gaga who rarely bask in the spotlight. Before Polansky arrived on the scene, Gaga, 33, had ended an engagement with talent agent Christian Carino. Another relationship with audio engineer Dan Horton was short-lived.
Lady Gaga pushes the envelope
Along the way, Gaga continues to push the artistic envelope; consequently, newfound success has followed. The New York City-born singer has sold over 27 million albums and nearly 150 million singles in her career.
Gaga’s acting talents, particularly in her collaboration with Bradley Cooper on A Star Is Born, are also noteworthy. She remains the only person to have ever won:
- an Academy Award;
- a BAFTA;
- a Golden Globe Award and;
- a Grammy Award
in the same year.
Polansky is a motivator
Understand that Polansky is not a motivational speaker of some sort by trade. Rather, his dating life serves as motivation for Crouse by proxy.
To answer an earlier question, Crouse’s insightful piece in The NYT was anything but tawdry. Yes, it involves Googling and social media deep dives into what an ex-boyfriend is up to. (Cheekily, Crouse says “be honest” to those who claim they haven’t done it.) As a result, such activities often harm and frustrate exs.
Happily for Crouse, the revelation and subsequent story she tells makes for uplifting self-reflection that motivated her.
For example: I was going to wear a black dress I’d gotten on sale years ago to an event that weekend, for probably the 27th time. But Lady Gaga would never do something like that.
I’ve never owned anything that costs more than a week’s worth of groceries — whereas she is a woman who wears pieces of raw meat on the red carpet. I went to a nice store I’d never been inside before and I tried something on.
The clerk asked me what the occasion was. I found out from Facebook that my ex-boyfriend was dating Lady Gaga, I told her, and she looked me up and down. “Huh,” she said. “Really?”
Yes.
The dress was too expensive, but I bought it anyway. Why should I accept less than Lady Gaga?
Well written, Lindsay: Why, indeed?
