What’s her background?..
Faye Tozer was born on November 14th, 1975 in Dunstable, Bedfordshire.
As a young child she was part of her local drama club as well as music school; which she attended at the weekends. Here, she fine-tuned her singing and saxophone abilities.
At just 21 years-old she was made part of the pop group ‘Steps’.
Her journey with Steps…
In May 1997, the new group – made up of Faye Tozer, Claire Richards, Lisa Scott-Lee, Ian ‘H’ Watkins and Lee Latchford-Evans.
The name was chosen due to the idea that their songs and music videos would have original dance routines. This was showcased in their first single ‘5, 6, 7, 8’:

Speaking about that time, Faye said:
‘Steps was doing really well and life was busy, but so exciting.
‘We toured with Britney [Spears] and had a Brit nomination. We were earning well and hobnobbing with the stars. Fabulous!’
The band sold over 20 million records, yet unfortunately they split up in December 2001.
What was next for Steps star Faye Tozer?..
After Steps’ disbandment, Faye returned to her first love of the theatre.

In 2018, Faye appeared every Saturday night on the sixteenth series of the BBC’s famous dancing show.
She managed to reach the Strictly Come Dancing finals with her dance partner Giovanni Pernice.
The couple never scored less than 29 and even managed to get the full score of 40 three times- once for their Charleston, once for their Couples Choice (when performed in the final) and once for their Show Dance.
They missed out on the glitterball trophy to Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton.

Faye was fortunate enough to take part in the Strictly tour. She revealed:
‘I’m living the Strictly dream! I love going on tour, so to be asked to join the Strictly Live Tour is such an honour and I cannot wait to meet all the fans’.
Yet again she was partnered with Giovanni Pernice.
In regards to the 2019 series, she believed that Karim Zeroual, Kelvin Fletcher and Alex Scott would make it to the final – two out of three isn’t bad, huh?
Faye Tozer’s love life…
The Strictly Star was married to Jasper Irn, but the pair are now divorced.
When on a night-out in Newcastle, Faye met her current husband, Michael Smith.
In an interview, she admitted:
‘I knew instinctively I was going to marry him. So I phoned one of my best friends and said: “I’ve just met my husband-to-be”‘.
They are parents to a son, Benjamin and recently celebrated their ten year wedding anniversary.

She continued:
‘I’ve got an incredible husband, a lovely little boy and I couldn’t be happier. Michael is the best thing that’s ever happened to me.
‘Ten years sounds like a lifetime yet it doesn’t feel that long at all.
‘Time has passed quickly while we’ve been enjoying ourselves, and we have wonderful memories and plenty more experiences to share’.
