Patsy Kensit’s Children and Marriages – Will She Wed Again?
Patsy Kensit has been in the spotlight for what seems like forever, from her early days with pop group Eighth Wonder to her more recent appearances in films. Over the years, she has been married four times and had two offspring, but who are Patsy Kensit’s children and what does the future hold for the star?
With different dads, Patsy Kensit’s children have enjoyed very different fortunes but both have embarked on lucrative careers. Now they’re grown-up, will the singer-actress take the plunge and get married again for the fifth time?
Patsy Kensit’s Marriages
Although Patsy Kensit was married four times, she says that she was only really married twice:
“With all respect to Dan and Jeremy, I was married twice. Was Liam the love of my life? In one way, yes. But Jim in another was as well.”
Her first husband was Dan Donovan, the keyboard player in Big Audio Dynamite. She was just 20 years old when the pair got hitched and her own band, Eighth Wonder was receiving accolades. Patsy and Dan started dating when she was just 18, but like many young romances it was doomed to failure and they eventually divorced in 1991.
Patsy met Jim Kerr later in the same year at a hotel in Barcelona when she was filming a movie. Jim was a rocker and just the kind of guy that was later to become known as Patsy’s “type” and after going out for dinner, an intense romance began.

Patsy and Jim had a child together but this wasn’t enough to save their marriage. They divorced in 1996, just a year after being married, leaving Patsy as a single mum.
By the age of 29, Patsy was with her third husband Liam Gallagher. The infamous bad boy of rock band Oasis, he was very much in the same mold as Jim Kerr. With Irish roots and wild ways, Patsy was once again in love with a rocker!
End with Liam and Entry of Jeremy Healy
Despite the fireworks between the two of them, the marriage between Patsy and Liam didn’t last (more about that below!)
The final marriage – to date – was to Jeremy Healy, a DJ. Now aged 41, Patsy met her latest beau a decade after splitting up with Liam. He proposed not once but twice, the first time while they were holidaying in Majorca and the second time on Valentine’s Day.
Patsy described what happened:
“I walked into the house and there was this heart-shaped box of chocolates with a ribbon round it and I burst into tears. I opened the box and right in the middle was my engagement ring!” (source)
The singer-actress says it was the most romantic thing that she had ever experienced.
Sadly, the romance was not to last and the pair endured a tumultuous relationship. They split briefly in 2008 before getting back together the following year and getting married in April 2009. But the marriage only lasted for 10 months with tales of constant bickering, and Healy apparently unwilling to try and work things out.
Shortly after the pair split up, a friend described Patsy as “heartbroken” and said:
“…she is devastated that Jeremy does not even want to put any work into the marriage. He won’t even speak to her anymore and she has not seen him for weeks. He went away in February to work at Paris Fashion Week and she has not seen him since”.
Her Marriage to Liam
Patsy Kensit is arguably more famous for being married to Liam Gallagher than anything else in her successful career. The Oasis front-man was a megastar and being on his arm meant being thrust into the spotlight on a global scale.
It was an intense romance from the start and the pair sat up all night chatting and sharing secrets. They had a strong chemistry between them and Patsy said that even after they split, the bond between them was still powerful.
Unfortunately, Liam had difficulties with fidelity and commitment and often went AWOL for days at a time, not telling Patsy where he was going. She was very aware of his wandering eye as before they married, she caught him in a hotel with a woman after she kicked down the door!
However, there came a point where Patsy could not continue to ignore Liam’s infidelities. The final straw came when Patsy discovered that Liam had fathered a daughter Molly with singer Lisa Moorish in 2008. Reluctantly she began divorce proceedings and the pair split for good.
Patsy Kensit Wasn’t the Only One
Patsy Kensit wasn’t the only one that Liam struggled to remain faithful too. Nicole Appleton later wed him and they had a son, Gene, but this marriage ended in divorce too. Once again Liam was caught cheating, having another daughter during a fling with Liza Ghorbani.
The relationship between Liam and Patsy may have been rocky for a while but the singer has only good things to say about Nicole Appleton. She says that Liam’s second wife was a fantastic stepmom to Lennon and that Nicole’s son, Gene, often stayed at their house.
Liam may have had four children but his relationship with his daughter Molly wasn’t quite as close as he didn’t see her at all while she was growing up. Bizarrely, Molly had a close relationship with Liam’s brother, Noel, but didn’t meet her dad.
That all changed when Molly turned 20, and she finally met her famous dad. Liam explains:
“Me and Molly met in a pub across the road. Then we came here, got really drunk and that was really good”.
However, now that Molly and Liam have reconnected, she no longer has contact with Noel.
In later years, Patsy Kensit has talked about her regret that her marriage to Liam never worked out and refused to answer whether she would ever get back with him. Liam is in a long-term relationship but isn’t married so could there still be a future for these two? Only time will tell….
James Kerr
Patsy and Jim Kerr enjoyed real love, and to this day she still refers to him as being one of the greatest loves of her life. During their marriage, they had a son together, James Kerr.
Patsy talks about the difficulty she originally had with conceiving, turning to Bono’s wife Ali for emotional support. Jim and Bono had a close friendship, and Patsy has frequently talked about her “deep admiration” for the U2 singer’s wife, describing her as “smart and interesting”.
She believes that baby James was conceived while at Bono and Ali’s abode, where they stayed around a week before they got married. They jetted off to Bali for their honeymoon but it quickly became apparent all was not well.
The star describes how she felt really poorly and ill but without a local chemist, there was no way to do a pregnancy test. In the end, they used the services of a local vet who tested her urine! An unorthodox way to confirm Patsy was expecting a baby, but it nonetheless provided the confirmation they were looking for.
The next day, Patsy and Jim drove up a local mountain at dawn where she stripped naked and placed her belly on the rock. Patsy talks about how she connected with “Mother Nature” and asked for help in making her baby’s life a success.
Subsequently, James was born to the couple but when he was three, the couple separated. At the time there were stories about Patsy outrageously flirting with other male stars, including spending three hours chatting to renowned lothario Ryan Giggs, and being snapped with her hand down the trousers of Michael Hutchence.
Jim Was Not Imbalanced
Although the couple split up, Jim remained very involved in the life of his son James and expressed concern about his wellbeing when Patsy got together with Liam Gallagher.
The Simple Minds singer later confessed that he thought it would mean that James would not be properly cared for:
“When someone remarries and lives that kind of lifestyle it is obviously worrying, but although you can shout and bawl as much as you like, you still, as the father have very little say. I did see James during that time and he seemed all right.”
Jim went on to acknowledge that his fears had proven to be unfounded:
“I didn’t doubt that Patsy and Liam – who recorded a song for him called LITTLE JAMES – loved my son, even when they were going through horrible times themselves. James has always seemed strong, self-confident and loved. And whatever my feelings for Patsy at certain times, I have to give her full credit for the way she has brought him up.”
James Kerr has not sought out the limelight for Patsy Kensit’s children like either his biological father or his former stepdad but he remains involved in a similar industry. Patsy revealed that Liam had given James a job working at his fashion brand, Pretty Green.
Patsy says that there have been many opportunities for James to have starred in films or commercials over the years, in the same way as she did as a child. She recounts how she was asked on “many occasions” to let him be filmed but she was keen to keep both her children out of the limelight and to give them a normal childhood.
Liam Gallagher and Patsy Kensit’s Children – Lennon Gallagher
During her marriage to Liam Gallagher, Patsy Kensit gave birth to a son in 1999. Named Lennon after the famous Beatles star, the child grew up with two famous parents. Even after Patsy Kensit and Liam split their children Lennon continued to receive support from both although he’s particularly close to his mum.
However, when it comes to looks you’d be hard-pressed to instantly recognise Lennon as a Kensit as his features look almost identical to Liam. With big shaggy eyebrows, piercing blue eyes and tousled mop of hair, Lennon is the spitting image of his dad. Throw in a duffel coat and slouchy clothes and it’s like winding back the years to when Liam was young.
The likeness hasn’t escaped Liam Gallagher. Who says he has told his son how lucky he is to look like him!
Gallagher joked:
“”So I’m like, ‘Where’s my cut? Them two eyebrows, they’re mine, right? So I want a cut of this f***ing wonga. And the f***ing name Gallagher, I want a cut of that as well! He’s like, ‘What d’you mean?’ I’m like, ‘See how much f***ing work you get if you change your name to Lennon Kensit? Zilch! So where’s my cut?”
Although the similarity between son and father is unmistakable. The sultry pout which Lennon loves to rock is pure Patsy Kensit! He shares her love of fashion too, and recently was seen on the catwalk, modelling for luxury brand Hermes while mum Patsy squealed in the audience.
Patsy herself made a splash on the modelling scene when she was much younger. So although Lennon may look more like Liam he certainly has Patsy’s talents!
Any More Weddings for Patsy Kensit in the Future?
Patsy Kensit’s disastrous track record with romance would be enough to deter anyone from getting married again. But what does the singer think?
Notoriously down to earth and funny, Patsy Kensit is philosophical about her broken marriages. Although none of them worked out, she is determined to view them positively, saying in an interview with The Mirror:
“Everything in life is a lesson and I have learned from each marriage. Yes, I’ve made mistakes but every experience is a learning curve. I am a survivor and not a victim. Life isn’t perfect. When you get a knock, you have to get up, dust yourself down and get on with it”.
However, although Patsy remains upbeat she has no plans to get married again any time soon. About her future hopes for romance, she says:
“I don’t have any plans to get hitched in the future. In many ways I feel like I’ve had enough passion to last the rest of my life. I’m not bitter about what has happened and my view of relationships hasn’t been tainted either.”
Now in her 50s, the time for having more children for Patsy is past too. With two grown-up sons who are successfully carving their way in the world. She now has time to focus on herself in a way that was never possible in the past.
