Her First Big TV Job Was MTV’s ‘The Wrap Up’

In 2014, aged just 20, Maya landed her first MTV show ‘The Wrap Up’ which looked at grime, hip-hop and R&B music. After the show’s success, she went on to host MTV essentials & MTV News.

As her career continued to progress, after stints presenting for various TV channels, Maya became the youngest ever person to host the MOBOs, which she did alongside former JLS star Marvin Humes.

The MOBOs hasn’t been the only awards ceremony Maya has been linked with, she’s also worked closely with the BRITS, hosting 2017’s pre BRITS party, as well as opening the 2020 EE BAFTA red carpet event.

It doesn’t stop here, in recent years Maya has presented The Circle on Channel 4 with Alice Levine. She’s co-presented Stand Up To Cancer with long standers Alan Carr and Adam Hills and has appeared on a whole host of panel shows.

At the minute, Maya has her own BBC Radio 1 show on Fridays and Saturdays 10am – 1pm.

Aside From Presenting…

When she’s not presenting, modelling or DJing, Maya is designing clothes. In 2018, she launched her own collection of items with fashion brand Pretty Little Thing, followed by another one in Feb 2019.
