5 Memorable Ferne McCann: First Time Mum Moments
The Ferne McCann: First Time Mum series has had its share of revealing and enjoyable moments throughout its four editions. For both daughter Sunday and mum alike, the McCann lives are filled with the trials and tribulations of a reality star’s career in the spotlight, as well as the baby daddy drama – namely, it’s full-on absence.
No doubt the ITVBe series is throwing open the doors on the famed TOWIE star, who burst onto the scene in 2013 as a new cast member. After two years of motherhood, McCann has become a popular subject for viewers.
What are the five moments that stand out the most?
5. Struggles with her “common sense”
There’s that grown-up moment we all have, where we come to grips with the mechanics of a utility bill.
Well apparently, some (but not all) of us come to grips with it.
It becomes clear that a “Chicken of the Sea” common sense laugh is always possible whenever the red light shines on Ferne McCann. People who appear on the show – her own mother included – aren’t exactly shy about pointing it out, either.
4. Coming to grips with a prison-bound ex
Ferne McCann: First Time Mum gave us an intimate look at McCann juggling both single motherhood and a career in the public eye. Ferne is going it alone after splitting with her ex and baby daddy, Arthur Collins, who is serving time in prison.
The issue has hung over the series, becoming a topic of conversation in the very first season in 2018.
“During the last series, Ferne spoke about coping with pregnancy at the same time her ex-partner was on trial for an acid attack that took place last April.
“And she’s already told producers that she’s happy to speak about Arthur again following his jail sentence – and her plans of making a life without him.”
3. Ferne McCann First Time Mum goes back on the dating scene?
Series four (the most recent iteration of Ferne McCann: First Time Mum) aired in Autumn 2019, the second edition of the series for the calendar year.
There are many delicate matters in Ferne’s life, one of which involves finding love. Because the stain of Collins’ 20-year sentence for carrying out an acid attack at a London nightclub, Ferne hadn’t devoted much time to moving on and focusing on happiness beyond motherhood.
McCann had been linked to Love Island’s Jordan Hames, but recent reports reveal she is smitten with a City trader she met on holiday in Dubai. Albie Gibbs, 25, first crossed paths with Ferne around Christmas 2018.
2. As Ferne travels, Sunday approaches the terrible twos
Series four also broached the difficulty of the dreaded “Terrible Twos”, as Sunday comes along rapidly for the difficult period for any single parent. This age was further complicated by a recent holiday, as seen on screen. Both Ferne and Sunday took in Spain for three weeks.
Thus, the return home to Essex meant a difficult journey to get her young daughter back into a normal routine.
Ferne’s worldwide balance of motherhood and career will take even further abroad than just her holiday schedule. ITV producers revealed prior to season four:
“This series also sees Ferne’s hectic schedule take her to Far East destinations as her and Sunday embark on a trip of a lifetime to Japan.”
No doubt that transition back to a normal routine from that hectic travel schedule will make for interesting viewing.

1. The journey to motherhood
Of course, no ITVBe series about reality stars-turned-mums would be complete without handling the deal with the trials of pregnancy. It’s the necessary hook and baits for any first series set to deal with the trials of motherhood.
Just like the Mummy Diaries did for both Sam Faiers and Billie Faiers, the First Time Mum series is no exception. McCann makes it work in the first season, sharing the:
- Intricacies of her belly button
- Changes to other body parts
- The unforeseen difficulties your underwear cause
It’s captured brilliantly in this Series 1 Best Bits synopsis.
The fifth series of Ferne McCann: First Time Mum has not been confirmed yet. Will it be returning to screens? Some outlets speculate that because two seasons were aired in 2019, there will be a new season in early 2020. Stay tuned for more about Ferne and baby Sunday.
