Early Days

Born on the 12th September 1996, Ms Reinhart’s age is just 23 years!

Lili Pauline Reinhart is originally from Cleveland in Ohio and has two siblings named Chloe and Tess. Ms Reinhart’s age makes her the middle sister, with Chloe being younger and Tess being older.

Ms Reinhart fell in love with performing at a young age – she performed in her first local musicals at just ten years old:

“I was always a performer kid, like annoyingly so. I would put on shows for my family and direct my friends in little plays, and my little sister, I’d make up dances with her.”

Her parents often drove her to New York for auditions, which is an almost 500-mile journey! Fantastic dedication from her mum there, it definitely paid off!

Reinhart is present on Instagram, Twitter and Tumblr and uses these platforms to discuss personal issues like acne breakouts and mental health. Like almost every other personality on our screens today, she’s not afraid of product promotion as well!

Lili was unfortunately the target of pregnancy rumours last year when an ‘unflattering’ photo of her was posted on social media. Fans were quick to ask if she was pregnant!

She was quick to clapback in a really inspiring way, both putting down the rumours and promoting body confidence:

“Nope, not pregnant. This is just my body. And sometimes I’m bloated. Sometimes an unflattering photo is taken of me. Sometimes I go through periods of time where I gain weight.”

“My body is something that I will NEVER apologize for. My body will constantly go through change. And so will yours. And that’s fine. So let’s not put so much time and effort into caring about a stranger’s figure.”

This isn’t the first time the young actress has slammed body shamers. In 2018 she and co-star Camila Mendes’ waists were Photoshopped after a shoot with Cosmopolitan Philippines.

Ms Reinhart had this to say about the images:

“It’s sad that you felt our bodies needed to be slimmed down. But Camila and I are […] beautiful. As is. And you can’t “fix” us.”

She may be young, but Lili Reinhart’s age is certainly not reflected in her maturity when dealing with body shaming!

Ms Reinhart Age & Mental Health

Ms Reinhart is very open about her struggles with social anxiety and depression. Mental health difficulties plagued Lili Reinhart from a young age. She says she is so vocal about these issues to help other people struggling:

“I remember being in middle and high school and hearing Demi Lovato speak up about her mental illness and that was comforting. But I wanted more people to stand up. I needed more people to relate to.”

At just 18, Lili moved to Los Angeles by herself to try and make it as an actress. She found herself feeling isolated and depressed in-between auditions, so returned home to Ohio after five months to see a therapist.

Reinhart didn’t give up on her dreams, thankfully! She returned to Los Angeles and soon landed the role that would change her life forever…

First Acting Roles

Ms Reinhart appeared on our screens for the first time back in 2011, with single episode roles in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Scientastic!

She also appeared in a few short films, but didn’t get her big break until 2017.

Riverdale

Reinhart’s biggest role actually took her two attempts to get! Having played the main role of Betty Cooper on drama series Riverdale for two years now, Lili said her first audition tape was not her best, but she tried again:

“I auditioned in person with a fresh take and a fire under my a… that I hadn’t had before.”

Reinhart’s character Betty Cooper is a cheerful and friendly character, with a dark side.

Playing the character Betty Cooper has helped Lili win a series of Teen Choice Awards over the past two years, including ‘Choice Drama TV Actress’ and ‘Choice TV Ship’!

This role not only changed Lili’s career, but her personal life too. She has gained some very close friends from her time on the show, including Camila Mendes, KJ Apa and Madelaine Petsch.

Her biggest personal life gain from this role, however, came when she met on-screen romantic interest and co-star Cole Sprouse…

Lili Reinhart’s Age-Old Relationship

Cole Sprouse plays Jughead Jones on Riverdale and fans began whispering about a possible relationship back in Spring 2017, right at the start of the show! The pair would interact frequently on social media, featuring pictures of one another and sending heartfelt messages.

While the pair have remained fairly tight-lipped about their relationship, there’s definitely a lot going on between them!

In particular, Reinhart shut down rumours about their relationship right until the end of 2018, shutting down questions quickly and firmly:

“People are just dying to know information about if I’m in a relationship or not. I understand the interest, but it’s called a private life for a reason. And it’s not something that I owe the world.”

“I’m not going to tell you my love story. That’s just not appropriate right now.”

The pair have relaxed a lot since. Firstly, sharing information about their dates (Sprouse took her up in a hot air balloon, so romantic!). Secondly, they love to take photos and write poems for one another.

Poetry

Speaking of poetry, that’s not the first time Reinhart has expressed herself through poetry. Lili’s first book of poetry, called Swimming Lessons, is due for release early summer 2020!

Ms Reinhart decided to share her poetry with the world and it explores anxiety, young love and the stresses of fame.

Film

Furthermore, since her breakthrough role on Riverdale, Reinhart has more recently been cast in large Hollywood films, such as in the strong female crime drama film Hustlers!

Ms Reinhart is currently starring in an upcoming Amazon Studios film called Chemical Hearts. Most importantly, this is even more exciting for Lili as the film is also her debut as an executive producer!

At just 23, Lili Reinhart’s age doesn’t seem to be holding her back. We can’t wait to see what the young actress has in store for the future!
