Rio Ferdinand and Kate Wright are up there with Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively when it comes to ultimate relationship goals. When they’re not working out together, they’re strolling around Disneyland Paris looking incredibly adorable and seriously loved up.

When Did They Start Dating?
Rumours started to emerge about a possible romance between the pair after Rio was spotted leaving Kate’s home in Essex back in January 2017.
After a string of dates, the went official with their adorable relationship. Because Kate was filming Towie at the time, she banned any mention of her new boyfriend’s name on the show and made it clear to bosses that she had no intention of using her new relationship to increase her time on the camera.

Who Was Kate With Before Rio?
Kate met her ex boyfriend Dan Edgar when she was on holiday in 2010 and they started dating when they both returned to Essex.
In 2014, Dan became fed up of working as an electrician and in order to get a role on Towie, he ended his relationship with Kate.
Following in her ex’s footsteps, Kate joined Towie in 2015 and reconciled with Dan (after he’d dated Lauren Pope and Jessica Wright), before they split up properly.
Revealing all about their relationship, Kate said:
“We went to Mexico and we had the most amazing holiday but… you know it just felt like we were friends.”
Dan added:
“I feel like our relationship was like we’d been married for 30 years and we got on each other’s nerves.I cant believe it’s come to this, I genuinely thought we’d be together for the rest of our lives.”

Rio’s wife Rebecca Ellison sadly passed away in 2015 after being diagnosed with cancer.
When Did Rio Propose To Kate?
On holiday in Abu Dhabi last October, the couple took to Instagram to announce their engagement. Rio popped the question in front of his kids. Kate uploaded a picture of the couple, who were surrounded by Rio’s kids. She included the caption:
“The perfect end to our holiday … How could the answer not be yes”.

Inside Kate’s Hen Party…
Kate enjoyed her hen do on the Greek island of Mykonos in June 2019 – seven months after getting engaged.
The ex-Towie star jetted off with sixteen of her closest friends for one last party before he time as a married woman began. From a raunchy lap dance by a female friend, to wearing masks of Rio’s face – Kate certainly had a good time!
When Did They Get Married?
On the last week in September, the pair jetted off to the £4,000-a-night D Maris Bay hotel in Marmaris in Turkey. The event was kicked off with a pre-wedding party for the special guests. The next day the couples tied the knot with Rio’s daughter playing the Maid of Honour.

Kate called time on her Towie role to step away from the limelight in order to be a mum to Rio’s three children.
“I’m taking a step back from the public eye, I want to keep my life private as I lived my previous relationship on Towie, my priority right now is Rio and the family.”
She’s still a big presence on social media – Kate Wright’s Instagram has 1 million followers.
