The Coronation Street star – who plays Kirk Sutherland in the ITV soap – is reportedly set to enter the jungle in three weeks time and producers are said to be “chuffed” with the new soap signing.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column:
‘Producers are really pleased with the line-up so far, with just a couple of faces to unveil. There’s a chance they’ll add a couple more but in previous years they’ve stuck at ten with one or two to follow.
‘They were chuffed to get Andrew as viewers have watched him on ‘Coronation Street’ for the best part of two decades, yet know nothing about him away from Kirk’.

Other stars expected to make an appearance on the show include former Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle, EastEnders actress Jacqueline Jossa, rugby star James Haskell, footballer Ian Wright and television presenter Kate Garraway.
Radio presenter – and son of Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp – Ronan Kemp is also set to appear in the jungle alongside Myles Stephenson from ‘X Factor’ winners Rak-Su.
Meanwhile, Kate recently revealed her children Darcey, 13, and William, 10, have been urging her to take part in the show but she was “terrified” by the prospect.
She said previously:
‘I think it’s completely terrifying but it’s also a brilliant show to watch, so I don’t know. My kids would love me to do it, I don’t know what that says.
‘People keep saying I’d be good in there and basically what that means is you want to see me tortured. Like really close friends say, “Oh you’d be amazing, I really want you to do it.” And it’s like, “What have I done to you?” Does anybody want to go through that torture, I don’t know?’
