From real estate to reality TV to roly polys, our Harry has racked up a whopping net worth of $18 million (£14 million), but how did he get all that cash to splash? Let’s find out…

What’s His Career History?

Harry’s enjoyed a lengthy football career both as a player and a manager. His profession began after he was scouted by Tottenham Hotspur while he was playing football for his school team. When he hit 15 years old, he moved clubs to play for West Ham and even represented England at youth level.

Harry began his managerial career as a player-assistant manager at Seattle Sounders, before assisting former teammate Bobby Moore for Oxford City. He went on the manage West Ham, Southampton, Portsmouth, QPR and Spurs – as well as a fair few others.

His last role as a manager was at Birmingham City; after taking on the role, Redknapp was proposed an incentive by the club – he’d receive a £250,000 payment if he kept the team in the Championship. Unfortunately, he was sacked after five straight defeats before he managed to achieve the aim.

Why Did He Go On I’m A Celeb And How Much Did He Earn?

Harry revealed that his grandchildren were the reason that he entered the jungle:

“Well the grandkids drove me mad,”

“Sandra said they’re so upset you’re not going to do this show.”

He joked: “I’ve not seen one minute of this show. I thought there would be a caravan behind the camp. I couldn’t find the caravan anywhere. What you see is what you get. I had four days without eating. I’ve lost a stone. It’s not easy, believe you or me.”

He continued to confirm they were the reason for him agreeing to go on the show:

“All the kids enjoyed it,” the 71-year-old. “I did it for them.

“They were like, ‘Oh Pop, Pop, don’t be scared of Kev who gives out the prizes when you win.”

Harry was crowned the I’m A Celeb winner by Holly Willoughby and Dec McPartlin after a few emotional rollercoasters, one of which saw him briefly reunited with wife Sandra before the final:

“You didn’t know that was coming, did you?” Sandra said to her husband. Harry then joked: “It’s like being in prison and you’ve given me a prison visit. I’m not going to let you go, you’re not going anywhere. You can come in my hammock!” He then started crying and said: “I can’t help this, it is not like me, I don’t normally cry, I’m pretty old school. Are you pleased to see me?”

The former football manager bagged around £500,000 for his appearance on the show – the second highest earner, behind Noel Edmonds (£600,000).

What Is Harry Up To Now?

After finishing his footballing career at Birmingham and being crowned king of the jungle, Redknapp returned to our screens with Harry’s Heroes: The Full English. The show’s premise was aiming to get out of shape former football players – the likes of David Seaman, Chris Waddle and Paul Merson – back on the pitch, helping them to beat a team of their old enemies: the Germans.

How Much Does He Earn From His Roly Poly Business?

We all heard Harry’s complaints in the jungle about craving his favourite pudding – jam roly poly (and it DEFINITELY made us crave it too).

So, in March he set up Harrysrolypolys.uk, selling his wife Sandra’s secret recipe to people around Britain, with all profits going to Hope Housing, a homeless charity.
