Wayne Bridge And Frankie: Inside Their Relationship
Wayne Bridge and Frankie are what some might say ‘couple goals’– they have the perfect little set up, having been married for five years with two kids.
The retired footballer and ex Saturday’s singer joined forces back in 2011, shortly after Frankie’s very public break up McFly’s Dougie Poynter, and Wanye’s split from this former long-term girlfriend. Wayne Bridge and Frankie were obviously meant to be…all these years later they are going stronger and better than ever!
Frankie, along with Rochelle Humes, are the only Saturdays’ members who are married. There’s constant speculation about who the other bandmates are dating, including with Mollie King and AJ Pritchard, during her stint on Strictly.
Both Frankie and Wayne have seemed to settle down and in to family life now, with Frankie hanging her dancing shoes up and Wayne doing the same with his football boots. Following five years at Chelsea and a further four at Manchester City, Wayne dabbled in a few other clubs before he ended his career at Reading.
Wayne’s always been one to shy from the spotlight, especially now after taking a 360 in his career and turning to the role of stay at home Dad. Frankie, on the other hand, remains in the limelight- maybe less so than previously, but still she’s not one to hide from it.
The pair don’t flaunt their relationship in the faces of Instagram scrollers, but Frankie especially does like to share the odd snap from time to time. They might not be living out their lives on social media, but they’re certainly living a very happy one behind closed doors. Perhaps that’s how they’re so happy…

December 2010- The Pair Are Introduced
During his stint in the 16th series of the Celeb Jungle, Bridge revealed for the first time how he met the former Saturday back in the day:
“I was just on a night out, and James Corden was there,” he explained. “He got her phone, put my number in it. And then put her number in my phone. And then we basically text a little bit, and just ended up going for dinner.”

2010- The Infamous Handshake Snub
At a game between Chelsea and Manchester City, Bridge famously snubbed a handshake from his former teammate, John Terry. It was alleged Terry had an affair with Bridge’s ex long-term girlfriend Vanessa Perroncel, shortly after they split in 2009.
Wayne has kept quite schtum about the incident, but he did admit a few years later that he’s disappointed with the attention it received:
“The most disappointing aspect of it all is that I’m probably more famous for not shaking someone’s hand than I am for playing football.”

2011- They Officially Started Dating
May 2013- Announced They Were Pregnant With First Baby
Despite Wayne already being a Dad to Jaydon Jean Claude Bridge, Frankie became a Mum for the first time with Wayne. Back in May 2013 the pair announced their happy news:
“Some big news from me today! Wayne and I are having a baby. We are both SO happy and can’t wait for his or hers arrival!”

Summer 2013- The Proposal (That Didn’t Go Exactly To Plan)
During a very rare interview together, on Lorraine, the pair candidly opened up about when Wayne popped the question:
“Wayne took me to a hotel and he got my dogs involved. I didn’t know my dogs were there and they came in in little bride and groom outfits. And Pixie had the ring around her neck on a ribbon.”
It might all sound plain sailing, but Frankie explained in an interview that the engagement wasn’t exactly how she’d imagined it in her head.
Wayne took her to a city hotel which kicked things off on a bad foot to start with, as Frankie had requested to go on a countryside retreat. She admitted to being moody, made worse by being pregnant at the time and not being able to fit in to her dress (or shoes).
But, the day was saved when her dogs made an appearance dressed up for the occasion.

18th October 2018- Baby Parker Was Welcomed
“Wayne and I are so proud to say our little boy Parker Bridge was born this morning. 7lb 13oz. All doing well and absolutely besotted.”
July 2014- The Pair Got Married
Wayne Bridge and Frankie tied the knot during summer of 2014, at Woburn Abbey in Bedfordshire after four years of dating.
“Frankie and Wayne want to keep the ceremony as private as possible. Cameras are allowed, but they have requested that no pictures are posted on social media”
They very respectfully, had no magazine deal (that’s a rarity these days), in attempts to keep their wedding day as ‘normal’ and private as possible. It’s rumoured they were serenaded by former boyband JLS, who reunited for the special performance.
Frankie didn’t actually have any of her bandmates as her bridesmaids!

2014- Frankie Takes The Strictly Come Dancing Floor
Frankie didn’t just take part in Strictly, she managed to finish runner up alongside her partner Kevin Clifton! With some dancing experience behind her from her days in a girlband, she really excelled in the competition!
Frankie assured there was no worries about the ‘Strictly curse’ interfering with her and husband Wayne Bridge- they’re one of the few couples not to be rocked by it, to be honest!

January 2015- Announcement Of Their Second Pregnancy
Not long after little Parker was welcomed, Frankie announced she was expecting another baby to add to their little family.
“So excited to tell you that Wayne & I are expecting another baby later this year,” Frankie, 25, tweeted on 8 January.
The Strictly tour went ahead without Frankie after she came down with the same severe morning sickness condition, Hyperemesis Gravidarum, that Kate Middleton suffered with her children.
August 2015- Baby Carter Is Born
“Our gorgeous baby boy Carter Bridge was born this morning. He is absolutely perfect – Parker is so excited to be a big brother!”
Frankie revealed that she hadn’t even had her hospital bag packed, when Carter came to say hello earlier than expected:
“I was booked in for a C-section on the Monday [August 17] but at 6pm on Friday evening my waters broke.”

November 2016- Wayne Stars In The 16th Series Of I’m A Celeb
After not seeing much of Frankie’s almost ‘mystery man’, it was now Wayne’s time to enter the spotlight with his appearance in the Jungle.

He proved to be a hit with the public, showing just why Frankie fell for her man. Finishing in 5th place, he left the jungle with his head held high after doing himself and family proud. Apart from when Frankie wanted to reach through the screen and kill him after he spilled the beans on their sex-life:
“Well for me it ain’t, you don’t get as much [sex] do you. Wayne revealed him and Frankie tried “everything out” before they had kids and their sex life was always “up here”.
Frankie was mortified, tweeting:
“Ohhhhhhh @WayneBridge just stop talking…. I’m begging you!!!!”
July 2018- Frankie Starts An Acting Course In NYC
Last year, Frankie took a bit of a different path in her career- one to New York in fact, to pursue her life- long ambition of acting. She’s obviously got more stage experience than most of us, but the kind of acting work she longs for is a whole different kettle of fish, as Frankie Bridge reveals:
“Period dramas, especially set in the Victorian era are more my thing.”

January 2019- Frankie Joins The 30s Club
And, yes- she’s STILL celebrating. The Sat reached the milestone back at the start of this year and has only just about wrapped up her celebrations. Her generous hubby Wayne, has just flew her out to Miami along with her sister her husband. The foursome seemed to have a ball stateside…

Wayne also threw her a lavish party back on her ACTUAL birthday, at Soho Farmhouse, where she partied with all her friends, family and former bandmates.
We wonder what’s next for this pair- we have a feeling sons Parker and Carter might be getting more siblings (if Frankie’s response to being quizzed about more kids is anything to go by):
“Carter fell over this morning when we were all walking into nursery and I turned around and Parker was wiping up Carter’s hands and he kissed both of them for him. When I see stuff like that, I’m like, “How could you not want another one? Imagine!”
