Emily (Helen Baxendale) – Then
Emily Waltham was the British niece of Rachel’s boss and became Ross’s second wife after she accidentally set them up. Rachel was supposed to take her out to the opera but in order to make a date, she asks Ross to take her instead.
Ross and Emily went on to have a whirwind romance and with the distance keeping them apart, they decided to get married in London.
Only it turned out their fairytale wedding was not all it was cracked up to be (especially after Ross vowed to ‘take thee Rachel…’ instead of Emily!) Oh the awkwardness! What a start to a marriage, eh? Eventually Ross was forced to choose between his new wife and former flame and of course, Rachel came out on top and Emily was sent packing.
The actress Helen Baxendale has since starred in British BBC Three’s sitcom Cuckoo.
