The Piers Morgan Meghan Markle Feud: What’s Really Going On?
Never sone to shy away from sharing his bold opinions, or rustle a few feathers, just what is going on with the whole Piers Morgan/Meghan Markle debacle?
Journalist, writer, broadcaster and television personality, these are not the only words people use to describe Piers Morgan…
Having feuded with Lady Gaga, JK Rowling and Kim Kardashian, to name just a few, Piers has continued his tradition of quarrelling with some of the most admired in showbiz by turning his attention to a member of the Royal Family- the Duchess of Sussex, Mrs Meghan Markle.
Having just written a column about her absence during President Trump’s visit, Piers has found issue with her ghosting after the royals (Meghan Markle/Prince Harry) hit things off, skipping out on royal duties in order to snub Trump and choosing a ‘silly’ baby name. Oh come on Piers, leave the baby out of it?
So just what is going on between the two?

When Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Met, She ‘Ghosted’ Piers
The journalist claims that he was actually very close friends with the former actress, slamming her for ‘ghosting’ him when she married Prince Harry. Is that bitterness we can taste?
Not only that, she reportedly told her Suits co stars to cut of any contact with him too.
It seem Piers was actually very good friends with Megs:
“I had a couple of pints of real ale and she had dirty martinis. She said afterward in the cab, ‘I had a great time. Love to see you again.
Sounds a bit close, doesn’t it? Piers must have realised when relaying the story, quickly adding:
“It was purely platonic I hasten to add. She went in that cab that night to a party Prince Harry was at and the next night she went on the date with him.”

Then comes the twist in the tale- and the start of the famous feud:
“I never heard from her again. Ever. I don’t like people that behave like that. It’s kind of rude. It showed me that she, I’m afraid, is probably a bit of a social climber.”
We all know what our friends can be like when they get in to a relationship- not cool, Megs.

He told The Mirror:
“I was friendly with Meghan but she ghosted me. I am not impressed.”
And Piers Morgan is certainly someone in Showbiz who you could do without ‘beefing’ with. But, then again- we’re talking about an actual princess at the other side of this feud. So who’s actually the inferior?
“From my personal experience, she is someone I thought I was pretty matey with and ‘bang’, she met somebody more important and that was it, and told other members of her show who I was friendly with to stop talking to me.”
All seems a bit odd to me.

Piers Morgan Called Meghan Markle A ‘Social Climber’
When journalist Deborah Knight questioned whether the Duchess was “really fake and a piece of work”, Piers came back immediately:
“You know what I’m sorry to have to say I’m afraid I think she is. She’s been using people on her way up to what is now, of course, the top, which is marrying into the royal family.”
In an interview on the Late Late Show, Piers Morgan explained how there was only one member of her family at her wedding as the rest were considered ‘too dangerous’.
To be honest, it all is a bit strange having just one member of your family in attendance at your WEDDING day.

Piers Calls Meghan Markle/Prince Harry’s Baby Name ‘Silly’
Just last month, Harry and Meghan Markle announced the arrival of their baby boy Archie Harrison.
Whilst many took to Twitter to share their joy, the television host called the name ‘silly’ and ‘hilarious’.
“So the royal couple, in a striking blow for diversity & feminism, have given their son one of the most popular white middle-class first names, Archie, and a second name, Harrison, that was chosen because it stands for ‘Harry’s son’ (I’m serious..)”
We love the name and like the little touch of his second name; quite creative actually if you ask me?

The Piers Morgan/ Meghan Markle Saga Continues…
And it was centred around another controversial character- Mr Donald Trump himself.
Writing for the Daily Mail, the journalist noted that it was ‘suspicious’ that Meghan Markle wasn’t present for Donald Trump’s recent visit to the United Kingdom.
The journalist called her absence a “shameful failure of her royal duty.”

He continued:
“So, I’m sorry, but bunking off at home is simply not an option for ANY senior member of the Royal Family.”
One month after giving birth to her son Archie Harrison, the Duchess is currently on maternity leave, that being the reason for her non-attendance- give her a break Piers!

He continued:
“She’s the only American in the British royal family, and the leader of HER country was here in her adopted country as a guest of Her Majesty the Queen. So call me suspicious, but I don’t think her absence from Trump’s visit had anything to do with her baby, and everything to do with her dislike of her President.”

Back in 2016, President Trump made comments that Meghan Markle was ‘nasty’ after the former actress had called him ‘mysogynistic’.
Quickly Trumped His Words
When Piers interviewed the President during his visit, Trump responded to the comments by saying:
“I wasn’t referring to she’s nasty, I said she was nasty about me. And essentially I didn’t know she was nasty about me. You know what? She’s doing a good job, I hope she enjoys her life… I think she’s very nice.”
Soon after Trump’s visit came to an end, Meghan attended Trooping the Colour, a celebration for the Queen’s birthday which sparked Piers to speculate that she was simply ‘picking and choosing’ which events she wanted to attend.
I suppose he’s got a point?
[dx_custom_adunit mobile_id=”RTK_QejT]
He concluded:
“By staying at home, then turning up all bright and cheerful the moment Trump left, she displayed a woefully selfish disregard for royal duty.”
