Patsy Kensit Through The Years: A Timeline Of Her Life
Before making her debut in Absolute Beginners (1986), The Holby City star Patsy Kensit first hit our screens before she was even out of nappies!
From appearing on TV adverts to going on to star alongside some of the nations most loved actors, Patsy went on to transform from cute child star to sex symbol!
The Lethal Weapon 2 star’s life has been far from mundane. In her 51 years, she has starred alongside some of Hollywood’s finest A-listers, released two top 10 music singles, had a rollercoaster marriage to rock star Liam Gallagher and become one of Emmerdale’s most notorious villains.

1968 – Patsy Is Born in Hounslow, London
Patricia Jude Francis Kensit was born in Hounslow, London on 4th March 1968 and she started a career in the spotlight before she’d barely taken her first steps!

Her mother was a publicist and her father had been involved with notorious London gangsters ‘The Kray Twins’. He even gained the nickname ‘Jimmy the Dip’ and spent time in prison before Patsy was born.

1972 – Aged 4, She appears in an advert for Birds Eye frozen peas
At just the age of four years old, Patsy made her first screen debut in an advert for Birds Eye frozen peas.

That same year she went on to appear in British comedy film For The Love of Ada, beginning her career as a child actor.
1980 – Aged 11, She attends the Italia Conti Academy stage school
Destined for a life in showbiz, Patsy attended the Italia Conti Academy stage school.

She then went on to study at the Corona Theatre School, an independent arts academy in London.

1983 – Aged 15, She becomes Lead Singer of the band Eighth Wonder
In the early eighties, Patsy established herself as both actor and singer after the band Eighth Wonder she set up with her brother, James, became a hit.
The band consisted of Patsy as the lead singer, Jamie Kensit, Steve Grantley and Geoff Beauchamp.

In 1988, Eighth Wonder managed to release two top 40 singles. Their single ‘I’m Not Scared’ made it to the top 10 and even appeared in the 1989 film Lethal Weapon 2 (in which Patsy starred in the leading role).

1989 – Aged 21, She Lands The Lead Role In Lethal Weapon 2
Patsy’s career was at the top of its game after successfully dominating the music world. Then, she only shot up the ladder when she landed the role of sexy secretary Rika van den Haas in Lethal Weapon 2, opposite Mel Gibson.

1992 – Aged 24, She marries Jim Kerr, lead singer of Simple Minds
Patsy married the lead singer of Simple Minds, Jim Kerr, in 1992. This was her second marriage to a musician after Dan Donovan, member of Big Audio Dynamite.

1993 – Aged 25, She has her first child (James)
She and the singer had a son, James, in 1993.

1997 – Aged 29, She Marries OASIS Frontman Liam Gallagher
In 1997, the beauty went on to wed Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher. The pair seemingly had the dream marriage for a time, with Patsy saying:
‘In many ways it was the perfect relationship I’d dreamed about when I was 16. On our first dates we just stayed up all night talking and sharing secrets. We even dressed the same – in Gucci duffle coats and desert boots – a bit like teenagers.’

However, the marriage wasn’t as perfect as it appeared when rumours of Liam’s infidelities began to surface in the media…
It turned out the rumours were more than just rumours after Lisa Morrish gave birth to Liam’s daughter, Molly, conceived during an affair in 1997. Poor Patsy!
1999 – Aged 31, Her Second Son Lennon Is Born
In spite of the affairs, Patsy later admitted that she turned a blind eye as she was so in love. She said:
‘We just clicked on every level. He was protective and loving. When we were together there were fireworks, and a chemistry that lasted to the end.’

However, the star admitted her insecurities about the relationship:
‘The minute he left I was in turmoil about where he was and what he was up to…’
The pair called it quits in 2000 although Patsy later admitted that she regretted the split.
Lennon is A Dead Ringer For His Rock Star Dad
Now aged 19, Lennon Gallagher is the spitting image of his rock ‘n’ roll father Liam Gallagher, right down to the eyebrows and glazed green eyes!
He now works as a male model.

2004 – Aged 36, She Stars As Sadie King In Emmerdale
In 2004, Patsy landed the role of manipulative ice queen Sadie King on ITV soap opera Emmerdale. Her character gained a lot of public recognition and she was labelled the ‘soap super-bitch’.

2010 – Aged 42, She Is A Contestant On Strictly Come Dancing
In 2010, Patsy signed up to be a contestant on the eighth series of BBC dancing show Strictly Come Dancing. She and partner Robin Windsor finished in seventh place.

2015 – Aged 47, She Enters The Big Brother House
After turning her attention to television and reality TV, Patsy entered the Celebrity Big Brother house for the fifteenth season and was the third housemate to be evicted.

2018 – Turning 50
While a lot of women panic about hitting the big 50, Patsy embraced it, saying:
‘I’ve never felt better or more excited about anything. None of us are going to look 25 again and who would want to? I wouldn’t.’

Telling Hello! she said:
‘Turning 50 is a wonderful huge step and so exciting. I’m loving the age I am at. For the past seven years I’ve had a quiet life – looking after the kids, doing the odd bit of work, but mostly living in a cocoon. So at the time I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it. I mean, what was I going to say? ‘I’ve just had a birthday, I’m 50 and I can still walk.’
2019 – Aged 51, Living Her Best Life
The ultimate yummy mummy, Patsy still looks as gorgeous as ever! Speaking to HELLO! magazine, she revealed some of her top beauty secrets:
‘I went to Chiva Som to do some meditation and that changed my life completely. I practice Yoga Nidra which is a guided meditation. It makes me feel so much better.’

‘Yoga has never worked for me, I’ve never been able to do the downward dog. I like light weights and running. And what I put in my body I find very important. I don’t diet, I just eat clean, fresh and healthy not processed foods. It’s important to take the time for yourself, look in the mirror and love yourself. Be the best you can be for the age that you are at.’
