He joined the cast of Waterloo Road in 2011 as 17-year-old Kyle Stack, a troubled teenager who was constantly getting himself into trouble with the teachers and fellow students. He was eventually expelled after punching Nikki Boston in the face before returning to the school to try and kill Finn Sharkey.

Since leaving the show, Sampson has appeared in theatre productions, pantos and season four of Mount Pleasant.
