We all have our favourite chocolate bars…Whether it’s Galaxy, Dairy Milk Milka (or something completely different), we just can’t help but have a favourite brand.
Now imagine you won a golden ticket that took you on a magical tour of your favourite chocolate factory (it’s basically Cadbury’s World).
This was a reality for five lucky children who ended up on Willy Wonka’s infamous chocolate tour. Yes, it’s the one and only Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!
It’s hard to believe that the film came out in 2005 – where have the past 14 years gone? It’s safe to say that the children are, well, no longer small and the cast have gone on to do some amazing things!
Let’s take a trip down the chocolate river to catch a glance at the fabulous five now and who knows? Maybe even an oompa loompa!
(Side note: eating this with a bar of your favourite chocolate is highly recommended).
Oompa Loompa (Gurdeep Roy) – Then
What would the chocolate factory be without the Oompa-Loompas? These little workers are full of mischief but they know how to pull together a song! The main oompa-loompa of Tim Burton’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is Anglo-Indian actor Gurdeep Roy.
He has an extensive filmography and has acted in many Hollywood blockbuster movies including Star Wars and Tim Burton’s remake of Planet of the Apes.
He has also made appearances in Star Trek and in hit television series’ including Doctor Who.
He had extensive training for his role in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory including dance and yoga.
Since then, he has appeared in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and most recently, he starred in the short film God came ‘Round as Sandeep.
