Prince Pondicherry appears in the form of a flashback when Grandpa Joe tells Charlie the story of the Indian prince who wanted a chocolate palace. The prince requested Wonka to make him a palace entirely out of his special chocolate. In spite of the warnings of the logistics of the construction, the Prince insisted.
When the Palace inevitably collapsed, the Prince and his companions only just escaped and in spite of demanding a new palace, Wonka had bigger things on his plate.
You might recognise actor Nitin Ganatra from popular British soap opera Eastenders where he has played the character of Masood Ahmed since October 2007. It was announced in 2019 that Nitin had decided to leave the show and will be pursuing other projects later this year.
