19. Mark Messages As Unread – Even After You’ve Read Them
Everybody reads messages before they can be bothered to reply, but if you’re the kind of person who forgets they’ve done that, then it’s probably best to re-mark the message as unread and start a fresh.

The same way as you would to pin, swipe the message to the right and select “Unread”.
