A striker for several top-tier clubs, he’s best known for his time spent with Sevilla where he scored the final goal in the 2006 UEFA Cup Final against Middlesborough in the 89th minute to secure a 4-0 win for his team.

Aside from his sporting career, Kanouté has shown a great interest in humanitarian causes, launching an appeal in 2006 to establish a ‘Children’s Village’ in Mali.
