It’s not uncommon for a dog to eat its own faeces – or another dog’s, for that matter.

They do this as a territory thing – they want to try and ‘keep things clean’. Mummy dogs may also eat their own puppy’s poop to try and maintain cleanliness – as backwards as that sounds.
