The show ran from September of 1982 to April of 1984 on NBC. But the show’s cancellation didn’t mean it would end.
In 1991 NBC aired a TV movie called Knight Rider 2000. The show took place in the near future and follows Michael Knight as he helps to train a new generation of crime fighters with the help of Knight 4000 – which was a heavily modified 1991 Dodge Stealth.

There was another made-for-TV movie, called Knight Rider 2010, which came out in 1994. But the film had nothing to do with the original show and actually took place in the post-apocalyptic near future! Now that’s scary…
Over the years there have been a few attempts to revive the show, the first of which came in 1997, called Team Knight Rider.
The sequel followed a whole group of crime fighters who used various cars that had AI personalities. Unfortunately, Team Knight Rider was cancelled after its first season.
