3- Dark Brown
This seems the scariest colour of all, but it is totally normal. It is due to older bits of the uterine lining making their way out.
“We’re not sure why this happens in all cases, but sometimes the blood is sitting around for a while and comes out particularly slowly. It has a lot of time to oxidize, which is why it can look brown or almost black.”

4- Thick jam coloured with clots
Although clotting is normal, any clots bigger than a coin may indicate a severe hormonal imbalance: low progesterone levels and high oestrogen levels. One method to tackle this is to reduce your intake of dairy, soy, and sugar.
