2- Watery Pink
Ob-gyn Alyssa Dweck, MD, assistant clinical professor at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, says that a watery, light pink flow indicates that you are suffering from a nutritional deficiency – in other words, your body is not getting the nutrients it needs to function efficiently. If your periods get lighter and lighter, when they would usually tend to get heavier, this can be an indication that you are suffering from Anemia. Therefore, any of the symptoms above must be taken to you doctor to discuss the next steps forward to tackle this deficiency.
But just to throw a spanner in the works, an iron deficiency can actually cause super heavy periods. If you find yourself having to change your tampon an hour after wearing it, or waking up in the night to change it, it might be worth getting tested for an iron deficiency.
