It seems that our hopes for a sequel could still materialise after writer Eleanor Bergstein revealed in 2017 that she may resurrect Baby and Johnny in the future.

Eleanor felt that some of the controversial issues in the original movie are trending again in current society which makes bringing back the characters ever more tempting. She said:
‘I always did think they had a future, I just wasn’t ready to go back into it…now I think I am ready to.’
