It has been almost five decades since Barbara Knox first began her Coronation Street journey, making her one of the longest serving residents on the show!
The actress, who plays the role of Newsagent Rita Fairclough (also Tanner, Sullivan and Bates) has been involved in some of the most hard-hitting story-lines during her time on the soap, and as a result she is definitely one of our all time favourite characters.
You’ll be glad to know that Knox is showing no signs of retiring from acting just yet, and is still receiving plenty of recognition for her hard work…
In 2018, the actress was nominated for the National Television Award for Best Serial Drama Performance and while she didn’t win this time, the star has a number of awards under her belt from previous years!
