Jenny Shepard (Lauren Holly) – THEN
Jenny Shepard was the director of the NCIS who had something a little more than a professional relationship with Gibbs after being stationed together in Europe. The self-confessed military brat was well-respected in the NCIS, although she sometimes let her emotions get in the way, particularly in the Benoit case. She is tragically killed when a botched operation comes back to haunt her 10 years later and she’s murdered by a Russian crime lord, all before she got the chance to tell Gibbs she’s still in love with him. Dammit, CBS…why would you do this to us!
After leaving NCIS back in 2008, Holly has definitely been keeping herself busy. She played the lead medical examiner, Dr. Betty Rogers, on the CTV series Motive and in 2014, she was reunited with her Picket Fences co-star, Tom Skerritt, in the movie, Field of Lost Shoes. Most recently she starred in the rom-com, My Perfect Romance. She currently resides in Canada with her three sons Henry, George, and Alexander.
