There were 2,385 people signed onto Job Seekers Allowance in January 2016, a high number considering its proximity to Liverpool.

Wages in the surrounding areas of Liverpool are low, while the average high paid weekly wage for some is roughly £545 a week, the Liverpool area struggles to make a weekly average of £430.

That’s a massive difference so it’s a wonder why so many people feel the need to sign on.
