The Most Expensive Dresses Ever Worn By Celebs
We present to you a countdown of the most expensive dresses of all time that celebs have worn to capture attention…and they did not disappoint!
The Academy Awards (AKA The Oscars) is one of Hollywood’s most prestigious, well-anticipated awards of the year- in Hollywood anyway. If you’re anyone in the acting world, you’ll get an invite to the event or even have the honour of receiving a nomination to be in for a chance to bag one of those infamous gold figures…
Stars are inevitably out to impress once they step out on that red carpet- there’s no holding back on the style front or on the dollars front. The men pull up to the red carpet in the most tailored, suave suits they can muster- finished off with a bow tie (a tie just doesn’t cut it for this night). The ladies strut their stuff in the most show stopping oscars dresses they (their stylists) can find – worth more than our entire lives combined probably.
You know how the saying goes: you get what you pay for, and some of these ladies have gone above and beyond to ensure that all eyes are firmly on them…
Charlize Theron Wearing Christian Dior – $100,000
Charlize Theron upped the price tag with this $100K structured number! It was at the 2013 Oscars that she turned heads in this all- white designer gown. In addition, we also couldn’t help but notice the $4 million Harry Winston cuffs on her wrists! For the love of God, let’s hope she didn’t lose them!

The 69 carat diamond necklace, a gift from her husband Richard Burton, was a subtle finishing touch. You know what they say, if you’ve got it, flaunt it!

Nicole Kidman’s Christian Dior Dress Is Worth $2 million
Now we’ve made it to the creme de la creme- the priciest dresses to ever grace the Academy Awards. First is this lime green, satin gown donned by Nicole Kidman. Did you know she was actually paid $2 million dollars to wear the Haute Couture gown?
The embroidered Dior gown designed by John Galliano was paired with some decadent earrings, with a little side of Tom Cruise.

Jennifer Lawrence- $4 million
And taking the title for most expensive gown ever worn at an Oscars award is actress J- Law, who made her way past the paps in this $4 million Dior Couture creation. The blush pink, embossed fabric did wonders for her pale complexion but I can’t imagine the stairs were easy to climb in it- at least she looked good while struggling! She was given the honour as the face of the brand, and we think she did it justice!
Jen grabbed the Oscar for Best Actress at the 2013 Academy Awards for her role in Silver Livings Playbook and she make sure she looked a million dollars. The Hunger Games star attended the awards in actually quite a similar look to what Hathaway rocked just a couple of years before. That is to say, she had the simple red, floor- length gown on, accompanied by a bejewelled necklace. The dress, from Dior, made sure she stood out from the crowd with her effortless and simplistic look (even if she did trip up in it!)
